Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the recent times, the growth of online shopping has outratedly lead to closing of all shops in towns and cities. The technoligcal advancements and developments have lead to the dynamic growth of online shopping. A decade ago, no one could have imagined that shopping would be this convinient.
The quick commerce in the field of shopping has made a huge impact. Certainly, people now prefer online shopping over window shopping. There're a variety of online shopping applications like Amazon, Flipkart, Savana and Blinkit. These applications have made it so convinient for the consumers to buy anything and everthing, at any give point of time. Moreover, they also offer quick delivery. Having said that, some of the platform also provide same day delivery, which is an excellent feature.
The consumers in todays time, prefer add to cart than carrying a cart themselves. Most of the consumers do not have much time to go to towns and cities just to shop, majorly due to the workload. On the contrast, the quick commerce platforms provided the feature of having everthing under one domain, making it easier for the people to choose and order even while working. Moreover, with my personal experince. I feel it is one of the most beneficial technological advancement in the history. Ordering a banana without any hustle and, getting it delivered within 7 mintues is an absolute achievement.
The growth of quick commerce and the facility of online shopping, has direcltly affected window shopping culture that prevailed. It is highly probable that in the near future this impact may lead to closing of shops in towns and cities and, taking over the shoping industry.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the growth of online shopping and whether it will lead to the complete closure of physical shops. The writer takes a clear position that physical shops may indeed close in the future due to the convenience of quick commerce, supporting this with examples like ordering groceries for rapid delivery. However, the development of ideas tends to be somewhat superficial and repetitive, particularly regarding the ease of ordering items. While all parts of the prompt are addressed, the argument would benefit from a broader discussion on the economic or social value of physical stores to achieve a higher score. Overall, it demonstrates an adequate response to the task requirements, aligning well with the Band 6 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised, separating different aspects of online shopping such as variety and personal experience. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty. For instance, transitional phrases like 'On the contrast' (a mix of 'on the contrary' and 'by contrast') and 'Having said that' are either misused or awkwardly integrated. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and logical progression between sentences stumbles slightly due to abrupt shifts in thought. Paragraphs do not always flow smoothly into one another, placing the response firmly in the Band 6 category.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully using terms like 'dynamic growth', 'quick commerce', and 'consumers'. However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors that detract from the writing, such as 'outratedly', 'technoligcal', 'convinient' (repeatedly misspelled), 'everthing', and 'experince'. Furthermore, the writer attempts less common vocabulary but makes collocation and formation mistakes, such as 'without any hustle' (instead of hassle). While communication is not severely impeded, these frequent inaccuracies prevent the lexical score from reaching Band 7.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures like conditional and relative clauses ('no one could have imagined that...'). However, grammatical control is inconsistent. There are several noticeable errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('platforms provided', 'platforms do not have') and punctuation mistakes like comma splices and unnecessary commas ('closing of shops in towns and cities and, taking over'). Articles are also occasionally misused, as seen in 'in todays time'. Because errors are frequent enough to be noticeable but do not entirely impede communication, a Band 5.5 is appropriate.
