Student answer (Band 6.0)
Undoubtedly, the increasing popularity will one day result into closeur of all physical shops in cities or towns. Although visiting shops for shopping gives a hands on experience of the products which is impossible to do so while shopping online, individuals still prefer to do it because of benefits. I completely agree with this statement due to these following reasons.
The fundamental reason for the immense growth of online shopping is its convenience. In this contemporary society, people are living fast-paced life then before which does not allow them to spare some time for commuting to the local market. Eventually, a lower number of buyers go to shops which is not supporting the shopowners to continue their business and they end-up shutting down their shops. This is evident in the world where a considerable number of stores have closed from all categories like clothing, stationary, beauty products and many others.
Another reason is wide variety of shopping websites such as Amazon, Temu, Shien and so on. They not only provide the products but also give public chance to compare prices and check reviews before purchasing. Moreover, online shopping sites promote their products using different social media platforms which grabs customers attention of all ages. Upon seeing exclusive discounts and offers people cannot ressist themselves from spending money. Therefore, they prefer to shop from these sites which offer numerous products instead of shops where they find a limited stock.
In conclusion, it is irrefutable that online shopping has evolved a lot that everything can be bought by scrolling some pages. Its easily accesisibility and giving people the opportunity to compare product value attracts more people to shop online.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear stance on whether online shopping will eventually lead to the closure of all physical shops. The position is maintained throughout the essay. Ideas are extended and supported, such as discussing convenience, time-saving, and the variety offered by platforms like Amazon. However, there is a tendency to over-generalise slightly regarding the complete closure of all physical stores, and some supporting points could be further elaborated with more specific real-world examples. Despite these minor limitations, the main arguments are clear and directly relevant to the prompt, fulfilling the requirements for a Band 6.5 or 7.0 descriptor. Balancing the developed ideas against the criteria, a score of 6.5 is appropriate.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Ideas are logically sequenced, moving from the definition of the trend to reasons involving convenience, followed by variety and online features. Cohesive devices such as 'Although', 'The fundamental reason', 'Another reason', and 'In conclusion' are used to structure the text, though referencing is sometimes slightly mechanical. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, with each paragraph focusing on a distinct aspect of the argument. While the progression is generally clear, occasional awkward transitions slightly limit fluency, aligning the response well with the Band 6.0 descriptors.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'fast-paced life', 'exclusive discounts', and 'accessible'. However, there are notable spelling errors ('closeur' for closure, 'stationary' for stationery, 'Shien' for Shein, 'accesisibility' for accessibility) and occasional word choice inaccuracies ('result into' instead of 'result in', 'give public chance' instead of 'give the public a chance'). These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they prevent the response from achieving a higher score. The lexical range is sufficient for the task and demonstrates an attempt to use varied vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The writing exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination and relative clauses (e.g., 'which does not allow them to spare some time', 'people cannot ressist themselves from spending money'). There are several grammatical errors and awkward phrasing instances, such as 'people are living fast-paced life then before' (missing article and incorrect comparative 'than'), 'which is not supporting the shopowners' (inappropriate aspect), and 'that everything can be bought by scrolling some pages' (preposition choice). Punctuation is generally fine, and while errors are noticeable, they rarely impede overall communication, fitting the Band 6.0 criteria well.
