Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is an ongoing debateable statement that increase in shopping through online platforms will lead to massive closures of shops in rural and urban areas. This statement is somewhat accurate but not fully true. In this essay I will explain my point of view with relevant examples to strengthen my argument.
To begin with the viewpoint that online shopping may lead to all shops closing is partially true because in the mordern era people value time over money which greatly increase the chances people buying goods from online stores. The major reason is that online shopping platforms are convenient and people dont have to go anywhere to buy products from any nation around the world. For example, I have ordered a perfume from dubai through online shopping which they shipped to my address and i did not have to physically go there to buy it.
However, I strogly support the idea that online shopping could not push traditional shopping style into extinction because these platform are less reliable and the chances that product will be damaged through any stage of delivery is much higher than traditional. In addition, when consumers buy things from traditional stores they can check the quality of the product and any damage to it. For instance, my brother bought shoes from online shopping website which were torn apart after wearing them once.
In conclusion, the online shopping trend maybe rising in mordern world but tradtional shops will never be stop existing because they are more reliable and customer feel greater satisfaction after buying from them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both sides of the issue and stating a clear position that traditional shops will not close entirely. The main ideas, such as convenience versus reliability and product inspection, are relevant and supported with personal examples, such as ordering a perfume from Dubai and a brother buying torn shoes online. However, the development of ideas remains somewhat limited and tends to rely on personal anecdotes rather than broader societal or economic arguments. Therefore, the response aligns best with Band 6.0 descriptors for Task Achievement, as it covers all parts of the task with relevant ideas, though some areas could be more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different arguments. Cohesive devices are employed to link ideas, such as 'To begin with', 'However', and 'In conclusion'. Nonetheless, some referencing and transitions feel a bit mechanical, and certain sentences lack smooth integration. For instance, the transition 'To begin with the viewpoint that...' is slightly clumsy. Because the organizational structure is generally clear despite minor mechanical elements, the performance corresponds well to a Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, with attempts to incorporate less common items and topic-specific terminology such as 'extinction', 'reliable', and 'convenient'. However, there are noticeable spelling errors ('debatable' misspelled as 'debateable', 'modern' as 'mordern', 'strongly' as 'strogly') and some awkward phrasing like 'shopping through online platforms will lead to massive closures'. Because the vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main arguments despite these lexical inaccuracies and spelling slips, it comfortably meets the criteria for Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures. There are several grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text, including missing apostrophes ('dont', 'customer feel'), capitalization issues, and run-on structures, such as in 'In conclusion, the online shopping trend maybe rising in mordern world but tradtional shops will never be stop existing'. However, these errors rarely impede overall communication, and the meaning remains clear. This balance of mixed structures and frequent minor errors reflects the Band 6.0 descriptor.
