Student answer (Band 5.0)

The growth of online shopping has sparked consideration discussion in recent yers. Although some believe shops are more good to buy things, other argue online is perfect and save time. In my opinion, I largely agree with the growth of online shopping is unstopable, the reason is people wanted to save more time and ordee everything through online.

The primary reason for my agreement is people prefer online because every product which is useful and used in our daily life is available eveything in online. For instance, If there is raining so much and we cannot go outside for shopping even though we can order online and the product will be home delivered and we get our product just within a hour. As a result, there is so much benefit for people. Moreover, online shopping is just a easier way to get a things whatever we want in short perood of time.

Another compelling argument is while doing online shopping people are facing lots of scam and fraud seller is more than honest seller. In my opinion, There should be restriction and proper rules for it so that no one will be scam, but this overlooks have to understand by every seller and buyer.

In conclusion, I firmly agree that online shopping is good and easier way to buy any kind of product due to this every people are saving their time. While alternative views exist, Online shopping is great if seller will not do any king of fraud things to earn money. Addresing this issue effectively requires awareness.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that online shopping is growing unstoppably, though it does not fully discuss whether all physical shops will close as suggested in the prompt. The writer presents relevant ideas, such as convenience, home delivery, and time-saving aspects, but these ideas are somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the argument that products are available online is reiterated multiple times without deep extension. Furthermore, paragraph three introduces an unrelated or contradictory point about scams and fraud sellers without clearly connecting it back to the core question of physical stores closing. Because the main position is clear and the task is partially addressed with some relevant ideas, this performance aligns closely with Band 5.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response shows some logical organisation, attempting a traditional four-paragraph structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression is disrupted by abrupt shifts in topic, particularly in the third paragraph which suddenly discusses scams and fraud without clear cohesive links to the preceding points. Cohesive devices are frequently inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, as seen with phrases like 'The primary reason for my agreement' and 'Another compelling argument,' which introduce weak or shifting supporting details. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within sentences often fails due to poor referencing, such as 'this overview have to understand by every seller and buyer,' which makes the logical flow hard to follow at times. This warrants a Band 5 score.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The lexical resource is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer demonstrates control over basic vocabulary related to shopping, such as 'online shopping,' 'home delivered,' and 'product.' However, there are numerous word choice and collocation errors throughout the text, including 'consideration discussion' instead of 'considerable discussion,' 'yers' instead of 'years,' 'unstopable,' 'ordee,' and 'short perood of time.' The vocabulary lacks the range and flexibility needed for higher bands, and spelling errors like 'eveything' and 'Addresing' occur. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the general message, noticeable errors and basic word forms keep this response firmly at the Band 5 level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting complex structures such as conditional and concessive clauses (e.g., 'If there is raining so much and we cannot go outside...'). However, these attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, marred by significant grammatical errors, tense inconsistencies, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'shops are more good to buy things,' 'people wanted to save... and ordee,' and 'this overview have to understand by every seller and buyer'). Punctuation errors and run-on sentences also appear. Although the meaning can generally be extracted, frequent grammatical errors cause difficulty and strain for the reader, matching the standard descriptors for Band 5.
