In today's contemporary era, the trend of online shopping has been increased day by day but still, I will never believe that the excessive use of online shopping can become a cause of closing all local shops in small towns and cities. I will discuss some keypoints to support my opinoin in upcoming paragraphs with relevant examples.
One of the main advantages of shopping in local shops that they allows us to feel the exact febric and appearance of clothes. At the same time, It would gives us access to try the size of clothes which is not possible while shopping online from different plateforms. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The student addresses all parts of the task, taking a clear and sustained position disagreeing with the statement that online shopping will lead to the closure of all physical shops. Main ideas are presented and supported with reasons, such as the tactile benefits of trying on clothes and the social aspect of weekend shopping. However, some ideas lack full extension and suffer from generalisations, placing this response comfortably at Band 6.0. Phrases like 'At the same time, It would gives us access...' and general supporting examples demonstrate an adequate attempt to address the prompt, though further development and deeper elaboration of economic and consumer trends would be required to reach a higher band level.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance established in the introduction and reinforced in the conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised to separate distinct points, moving from physical advantages in paragraph two to social and economic benefits in paragraph three. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty, seen in phrases such as 'One of the main advantages of shopping in local shops that they allows us...' where a missing verb disrupts the logical flow. Additionally, referencing and transitions like 'On the flip side, Undoubtly, online shooping has...' feel somewhat repetitive and clumsy, limiting the text to a Band 6.0 for Coherence and Cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'contemporary era', 'reasonable price', and 'urgent access'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'opinoin' instead of opinion, 'febric' instead of fabric, 'plateforms' instead of platforms, 'shooping' and 'shoping' instead of shopping, and 'shutdown' instead of shut down. These lexical inaccuracies and occasional spelling mistakes do not impede overall communication, but they prevent the vocabulary score from rising above Band 5.5, reflecting a mix of adequate resource and frequent mechanical errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'In today's contemporary era, the trend of online shopping has been increased day by day but still, I will never believe...' and 'Parents and grandparents always prefer local shops for shopping because they like to check the quality...'. There are several grammatical errors and awkward constructions, including 'has been increased' instead of has increased, 'It would gives us' combining modal and verb incorrectly, and sentence fragments like 'Which is win-win situation'. While these errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, the meaning remains discernible, aligning the grammatical performance with the Band 5.5 descriptors.
