Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, a trend of online shopping has been growing rapidly. Internet may provide many discounts and easy deliveries however local and physical shops can bring more trust and uniqueness. Therefore, I am disagree with the view of online shopping will lead closing physical stores.
On the one hand, there are many reasons people prefer to buy things from online. One of the main reasons is great deals. Online plateforms may provide many items in discounted rates. Big companies usually purchase number of products directly from the manufacturing companies. As aresult, they got heavy discount while purchasing these products. However, they will sell the products in a single item and give some percentage of discount on them. That is why many consumers may get the product in a lower rate than the market. Another significance is convenience. Many companies would provide home deliveries. This consider great for families who are working full time and have limited time for shopping.
On the other hand, there are compelling reasons people prefer shopping from local stores. Easy acess and quality inspection are main reasons. Local stores help people to fulfill their basic necessity in few minutes or hours. For instance, people can buy fresh vegetables, milk and other necessities from their nearest stores. Apart from this, it gives an access to inspect the equality to the consumers. Buyers have a chance to see the product from all the angels before make the decision of purchase.
To conclude, although online platforms may provide convenience, direct deliveries and discounts, the positive factors of local stores can bring more trust while inspection. Therefore, I believe online shopping would not leads to shut down the shops in town or cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position regarding whether online shopping will cause all physical stores to close. The writer provides relevant ideas supporting both sides of the argument, such as price discounts and convenience for online shopping, alongside immediate accessibility and quality inspection for local stores. However, some ideas are under-developed rather than fully extended. For instance, the explanation of how big companies purchase products directly from manufacturers to secure heavy discounts is a bit repetitive and lacks specific elaboration. To reach a higher level, the ideas would need more thorough development and richer supporting examples throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, distinct body paragraphs handling opposing views, and a logical concluding summary. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the main points. However, cohesion can sometimes feel mechanical due to a reliance on basic transition signals such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclude'. Additionally, referencing and logical flow within paragraphs occasionally falter, such as the sudden shift from discussing big companies to home delivery convenience. Improving the seamless integration of cohesive devices and ensuring smoother progression between sentences would enhance the overall structure.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, successfully communicating the writer's main points. The student attempts to use less common items such as 'compelling', 'necessity', and 'inspection', but there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice and collocations, such as 'online plateforms' (spelling error), 'in discounted rates' (preposition error), 'purchased number of products', and 'inspect the equality' (word choice error). These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they reflect a limited and somewhat strained lexical range. Expanding the range of vocabulary and ensuring precise collocations and correct spelling are necessary to elevate the writing further.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, attempting various clauses and conditional or comparative forms. However, there are noticeable grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues like 'I am disagree', articles such as 'the view of online shopping will lead closing', pluralisation slips like 'from all the angels', and prepositional inaccuracies. Despite these errors in grammar and punctuation, the sentences generally remain understandable and rarely impede communication entirely. To achieve a higher standard, the writer needs to increase the frequency of error-free sentences and refine control over complex grammatical patterns.
