Student answer (Band 5.5)

Now days trend of shopping online is increasing at rapid rate this will lead to shut down all shops and malls. I totally disagree with this opinon.

On the first hand, most of people give prefernce before buying the stuff to check on themselves. Nowdays everyone wants spend money on good things or things which suits them most. People go to shoping centers and check the quality of product, whereas checking product option is not available in online shoping. For example, my most of friends go to shoping in malls they check quality there and wear on themselves for checking weather that suits on their personality or not. So most of people give prefernce to buy clothes in shoping malls only.

Moreover, cloth shops provide facility of immidiate shopping. Now days everyone is so busy due to their heavy work schedule and even people dont extra day for the shoping people choose to buy clothes on the way to the event. This option is not available in online shoping. For instance people is going to any event most of people use to buy clothes on the same day or people buy cloths when they are on the way toward any ocassion. So shoping malls provides option of instant shoping even people are taking benifits of that.

Lastly, shoping centers will never going to close due to the various facilities.Which I mentioned above paragraphs like people able to quality of product and people can do instant shoping.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear stance against the idea that online shopping will cause all physical shops to close. However, it only partially addresses the task due to falling slightly short of the required word count, with the response containing 246 words instead of the minimum 250. Furthermore, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed. While the writer introduces relevant points regarding product quality checking and the convenience of immediate shopping, these arguments lack sufficient extension, relying on repetitive assertions rather than fully elaborated examples or broader societal impacts.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The text demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion. Paragraphing is attempted, and ideas are generally grouped by theme, such as physical inspection and immediate shopping. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty. The transitions between sentences feel abrupt, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the dangling phrase in the final paragraph starting with 'Which I mentioned above paragraphs'. Cohesive devices are used in a basic manner, and logical progression occasionally stalls due to repetitive phrasing across the body sections.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for expressing basic opinions on shopping. There are noticeable lexical errors throughout the response, including frequent misspellings and incorrect word choices, such as 'Now days' instead of nowadays, 'opinon' instead of opinion, 'prefernce' instead of preference, and 'shoping' instead of shopping. Additionally, collocation and word forms are sometimes awkward, such as 'check on themselves' and 'checking weather that suits on their personality'. These errors cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted control of lexical features.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer uses a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic coordination. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to run-on structures and missing punctuation. There are frequent grammatical errors involving articles, prepositions, and plurals, such as 'most of people', 'cloth shops provide facility', and 'people dont extra day'. Verb form errors also occur, as seen in 'shoping centers will never going to close' and 'people is going'. These frequent errors frequently cause difficulty and strain for the reader.
