Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the modern world online shoping has become an increasingly influential part of everyday life. Transforming the way, people buying and selling. while some people believe that in future it will be the main cause of closing shopes in cities and town. I firmly believe that it has its own merits and demerits. This essay will examine its bothe sides before explaing why i am not agree with it.

On the one hand, there are several substantial advantages of online shoping one of them is easy avilibility. people can purchase more conveniently and save their time through online shoping. they can utlitze that time in different activites. Moreover, they feel relax and fresh for other task. For instance, if people have most important work and want to manage time they can use the way online shoping. Therefore, they feel burden free and fresh.

On the other hand, we can observe some demerits of online shoping like misguidens. Because people can face fraud through online shoping. maybe they receive second hand artical. Which make them mentally upset. As a result they will avoid online shoping. For example, when people will not find the real thing as they ordered this make them untreasty so they will avoid online shoping. Consequently, online shoping become less and people will rely on physical shoping in town and cities.

In conclusion, although online shoping has its own advatage and disadvantages, but due to some circumstances some people relay on online shoping on the other side some donot believe on it and they focus on physical shops. I believe online shoping cannot replace physical shops in furture due to its importanca and live trust.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the impact of online shopping on physical stores, but the development remains somewhat limited and superficial. Although a position is presented in the introduction indicating disagreement with the complete closure of all shops, the arguments provided are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the discussion on advantages focuses narrowly on time-saving and convenience without fully exploring broader economic or social factors, while the disadvantages concentrate primarily on the risk of receiving second-hand or incorrect items. Some ideas are under-developed or circular in nature, such as the reasoning regarding consumer trust. To move to a higher level, the writer needs to extend and support ideas with more specific, well-reasoned examples and a clearer progression of thought throughout the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement and follows a logical four-paragraph structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate the main ideas. However, cohesion at the sentence level is occasionally mechanical or faulty. The writer relies heavily on basic cohesive markers like 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'For example', but referencing is sometimes unclear, and punctuation errors disrupt the flow. For example, fragment sentences and incorrect comma splices, such as starting sentences with subordinate clauses improperly punctuated, affect the overall progression. To achieve a higher band, the writer should employ a wider range of cohesive devices more naturally and ensure that inter-sentence links create a smoother and more transparent logical progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The lexical resource is limited and adequate only for basic communication. The student attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'influential', 'activites', and 'circumstances', but struggles with accuracy in word choice, spelling, and word forms. There are frequent spelling errors throughout the text, including 'shoping' instead of shopping, 'avilibility' instead of availability, 'utlitze' instead of utilize, 'artical' instead of article, 'untreasty' instead of untrustworthy, and 'advatage' instead of advantage. Additionally, collocations are sometimes unnatural, and word forms are misused, such as 'not agree' instead of disagree, and 'misguidens'. These noticeable lexical errors and repetitive vocabulary choices cause occasional difficulty for the reader and prevent the response from achieving a higher rating.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a limited range of grammatical structures, relying primarily on simple sentences alongside a few faulty attempts at complex forms. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that can cause difficulty for the reader. Issues include missing articles, incorrect verb tenses and forms, and poor punctuation control, such as sentence fragments and run-on sentences. For instance, writing 'Transforming the way, people buying and selling' creates a fragmented structure with incorrect participle forms, and 'when people will not find the real thing as they ordered this make them untreasty' shows poor subject-verb agreement and tense consistency. To improve, the writer must focus on increasing grammatical accuracy, mastering basic sentence boundaries, and reducing the frequency of structural errors across complex sentences.
