Student answer (Band 5.0)
The growth of online shopping can affect local shops in town and cities but I am completely disagree that window shopping can close local shops.
Firstly, people have busy lifestyle nowadays perhaps they choose online shopping to save their time. Some people choose physical shopping be
cause they have fear to being sacmed. when people do online shopping they have to relay on the product review and the photographs which can be the part of the scam. for example in the times of india 2025 reported that 65% people being scamed due to online shopping.
Secondly, to use technology is not the cup of tea for everyone. old people may have more difficulty to order online because they might not more familiar with technology or equipments rather they prefer to go to the near by shop so they can buy things easily. for instance, my grand father he has no idea about process of online shopping he always prefer to go to the shop.
In conclusion, although online shopping have many benifits some people still prefer to shop physically. I disagree that window shopping can lead to closing of shops of town and cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you disagree that online shopping will cause all town and city shops to close. You give two relevant reasons—concerns about scams and older people’s difficulty using technology—and support them with a reported statistic and a personal example. However, the response addresses the issue only partially: it does not explain in much detail why these groups’ preferences would keep shops open, and the claim about 65% of people being scammed is not clearly connected to the wider future of retail. The conclusion repeats your view rather than extending it. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, so there is limited space to develop your reasons and address the prediction that all shops will close.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. This makes the main points easy to identify. However, progression within the paragraphs is limited, and some links are unclear. For example, the move from busy lifestyles to fear of scams in the first body paragraph needs a clearer explanation of how these contrasting preferences relate to your argument. The conclusion begins “although” but does not clearly connect that concession to the final position. Develop each paragraph around one main idea, explain the link between its example and your claim, and use referencing and transitions more precisely rather than relying mainly on basic sequencing words.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “online shopping,” “product review,” “photographs,” and “technology,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-choice, and collocation errors reduce precision. Examples include “sacmed” and “scamed” for “scammed,” “relay on” for “rely on,” and “near by shop” for “nearby shop.” “Window shopping” is also not the right term for shopping in physical stores; “in-store shopping” or “shopping in person” would express your meaning more accurately. Aim to use a wider range of precise retail-related vocabulary and check spelling and common word combinations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a contrast introduced by “although.” However, errors occur frequently and sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “I am completely disagree” should be “I completely disagree,” while “people have busy lifestyle” needs an article and plural agreement: “people have busy lifestyles.” In “old people may have more difficulty … because they might not more familiar,” the verb “be” is missing. There are also problems with agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “online shopping have many benefits.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, verb forms, and punctuation, then proofread each sentence for a complete grammatical structure.
