Student answer (Band 5.0)
In recent years, the trend of online shopping is increasing. people enjoy buying things online that to go on a shop. This trend can cause great loss to all shops in towns and cities. some agrees with the statement and some disagree with that. I am partially agrees with the statement .I will elaborate in next paragraphs.
Firstly, the trend of buying things online is increasing because people can buy thier daily use and more from one simple site. they don't have to go to different shop to shop to buy different things, for example if they are buying something for thier house to decorate it they can simple buy it online. there are some sites which use artificial intelligence to check if that thing gonna look suitable for their room or not. moreover, If they don't find all the things from one place then they can simply open different app on their phone to order it.
On the other hand, there are some drawbaks of online shopping becasue sometime when we buy things online we cannot tell by the looking at the picture if its going to be good for us or not or we dont know if it weill reach on time or not. for example, if a person is buying grocery online we dont know what kind of material they are going to send or if they are going to send us the right manufacturing company or not because we don't know if they even have that product.
in conclusion, as every coin have two sides, there are both benefits and disadvantages of buying things online. People should not depend on anyone. they should look for themselve and they buy whatever thing they are looking for.people should limit buying things online.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a relevant response and state a qualified position: “I am partially agrees with the statement.” The discussion of convenience and the difficulty of judging product quality online is pertinent, and the examples about decorating a room and ordering groceries help illustrate these points. However, the essay does not fully answer the central prediction about whether online shopping will eventually cause all town and city shops to close. Most of the response compares online shopping’s advantages and disadvantages, without explaining which physical shops are likely to survive or why. Your position is also not developed into a clear conclusion: the final advice to limit online shopping does not establish whether you agree or disagree with the prediction. Explain your view directly and support it with reasons about the future of physical shops.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad contrast between online shopping’s convenience and its drawbacks. However, progression is limited because the paragraphs discuss general pros and cons rather than building a sustained argument about whether shops will close. Some connections are unclear or repetitive: “they can simply open different app” extends the convenience point, but its relationship to the main prediction is not explained. The conclusion introduces advice about limiting online purchases rather than drawing together the argument. Use topic sentences that address the question directly, link each example back to your position, and make the final paragraph state a clear answer.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough everyday vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “trend,” “benefits and disadvantages,” and “artificial intelligence.” There are also attempts to describe specific situations, such as buying groceries or decorating a room. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, including repeated uses of “things,” “buy,” and “online.” Some word choices and collocations make meaning less clear, such as “daily use,” “one simple site,” and “what kind of material they are going to send” when discussing groceries. Spelling errors such as “thier,” “drawbaks,” and “becasue” are noticeable. Build a more precise range for discussing retail and consumer choices, and check spelling and natural word combinations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional example beginning “if they are buying something” and a contrast introduced by “On the other hand.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “I am partially agrees” has an incorrect verb form, while “people can buy things online that to go on a shop” is not grammatically complete. Agreement and sentence construction also cause problems in “as every coin have two sides” and “they buy whatever thing they are looking for.” Punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, particularly at sentence beginnings and around full stops. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, complete clause structures, and sentence boundaries before adding more complex forms.
