Student answer (Band 5.0)
Online shopping is one of the craziest buzz these days as people find it less time consuming and appropriate to take the time out from their busy schedules. Women are far more in grossed in this as they love shopping spree where else men still choose to shop by going to markets and visiting town.
It all started to make in run after covid '19 as people were bound to sit at home and they have nothing to do at all so they choose to shop online and spare their good time as a part of their hobby.
Nowadays whatever has been going around us we can clearly see that the growth of online shopping will one day lead to all shops in towns and cities closing because the lack of interest in public's demand is more on to shop online rather than going to the markets but it doesn't completely gives any surety that i will happen as majority of the people still wants to go out and shop because its not only the shopping for them but a quality time out from all the liabilities but to spend it with their family.
Noticing that not only within families but friends to their friends still wants to shop out or to do window shopping just to have a good time together, which they clearly can't make it happen via doing online shopping. One of the biggest examples i personally have witnessed in my family that my aunt gave birth to new born baby and couldn't got a time to shop for her baby neither her husband was in town so the only option she had was to do online shopping but their were a huge color change and different material she had received which was quite good in amount as well. Lately she realized that not everything has to be bought online.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You take a position that online shopping will not necessarily cause every town and city shop to close, and you support this with relevant points about social shopping and the convenience of buying in person. The example of your aunt receiving unsuitable baby items also helps illustrate a limitation of online purchases. However, the position is not consistently clear: the sentence beginning “the growth of online shopping will one day lead to all shops… closing” initially sounds like agreement, before you qualify it. The discussion also focuses mainly on why people still shop in person, without fully explaining how this means physical shops will remain open. State your view directly and develop the reasons with clearer links to the prediction in the prompt. (17 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.)
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable sequence: it introduces online shopping, refers to its growth after COVID, then gives reasons people may continue visiting shops and an example. This provides some organisation, but the progression is difficult to follow because several ideas are packed into long sentences, especially the paragraph beginning “Nowadays whatever has been going around us.” Connections between points are sometimes unclear, and the response ends with the aunt’s experience rather than a concluding summary of your position. Some linking phrases, such as “Lately” and “Noticing that,” do not clearly show the relationship between ideas. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons, and example, and add a concise conclusion that reinforces your answer.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “online shopping,” “window shopping,” “public’s demand,” and “liabilities,” and the reader can generally identify your main ideas. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or informal, which sometimes makes meaning difficult to interpret. For example, “one of the craziest buzz” and “in grossed in this” do not express the intended ideas naturally, while “spare their good time” is unclear. There are also spelling and form problems, such as “where else” for “whereas” and “new born.” Aim for precise, standard expressions and check that each phrase fits its context. The suggestions below offer more natural alternatives for several expressions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with clauses, for example when explaining why people may still visit shops and describing your aunt’s experience. However, complex sentences are often difficult to control, and frequent errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries can make the reader work to understand your meaning. Examples include “it doesn’t completely gives,” “the majority of the people still wants,” and “couldn’t got a time.” The long sentence beginning “Nowadays whatever has been going around us” also needs clearer punctuation and clause structure. Practise building accurate shorter sentences first, then combine ideas using controlled subordinate clauses. Check subject–verb agreement and verb forms during proofreading.
