Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people believe that the increse
of number of online shopping will lead to closure for shopping malls and cities. In this essay, it will discuss why I disagree with this opinion although there are some advanges for online shopping.
Online shopping provides convenience for consumers because they can save time going to shopping malls. One more reason is they can compare the prices of an item through online. For example, buyers can search different price online with the product they want to purchase and also they can get some discounts when they buy it through online. Its not only saving some time however some consumers save also money from the discount they get when bought by online.
Nevertheless, there are some disadvantages for shopping online that makes me disagree for closure of shopping malls in the town or City. One main reason is some individuals still prefer to go in the mall to buy or do shopping because they wanted to see the actual appearance of the product. For instance, when they are buying clothes, they want to fit itself to get the correct size and most importantly to see the quality of the product which cannot be seen by online shop. Another reason is it provides bonding to some individual like for example, partners or friends wants to relax, go for shopping and help each other to choose what is best for them, and giving some advice which clothes most fit to them.
In conclusion, I disagree that in the future shopping malls in the town and city will be close because of the growth of online shopping. Although it provides convenience to buyers and some discounts; however buying goods and products at the shopping mall still provides satisfaction and fullfillment with the buyers because they were able to see the quality of the products and choose the correct size when buying some clothes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you disagree that online shopping will cause all town and city shops to close, and you return to this view in the conclusion. You address both the convenience of online shopping and reasons physical shops will remain, including trying on clothes, checking product quality, and shopping socially with friends or partners. These examples are relevant and help support your argument. However, the discussion of online shopping’s advantages is more developed than its limits, and the social benefit of shopping in person could be explained further. To strengthen the response, connect each reason more explicitly to why shops will continue to operate, and develop the examples with a little more explanation rather than relying on broad claims about consumers’ preferences. Overall, the task is addressed, though some ideas are less fully developed than others.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your position, separate paragraphs discuss online shopping and physical shops, and a conclusion restates your view. The progression from convenience to the reasons people still visit malls is easy to follow. You also use signposting such as “For example,” “Nevertheless,” and “In conclusion.” At times, however, connections are mechanical or unclear. “Its not only saving some time however…” combines ideas awkwardly, while “Another reason is it provides bonding to some individual like for example” makes the relationship between the point and example difficult to follow. Some references, such as “it,” are not immediately clear. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make links between claims and examples more direct; this would make the otherwise coherent organisation smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “convenience,” “compare the prices,” “discounts,” “actual appearance,” and “quality of the product.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation, word-form, and spelling errors make the writing less natural. Examples include “increse of number,” “advanges,” “through online,” “closure for shopping malls,” and “fullfillment with the buyers.” Some phrases are also repetitive, particularly “buy” and “shopping.” Build a more precise set of expressions for online and in-store retail, and check spelling and common word partnerships. For example, use “the growth in online shopping,” “shop online,” and “satisfaction for customers” to express these ideas more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and a contrast introduced by “although.” The main argument is generally understandable, but control is inconsistent: several sentence patterns contain errors that can make the reader pause. For example, “it will discuss why I disagree” has an unclear subject, and “partners or friends wants” has a subject–verb agreement problem. In “when they are buying clothes, they want to fit itself,” the pronoun does not agree with its subject. The final sentence also joins contrasting ideas with “Although …; however,” creating a faulty structure. Practise accurate agreement, pronoun reference, and sentence boundaries, and check that each complex sentence has a clear subject and a correctly linked main clause.
