Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You take a clear position in favour of the statement and give relevant reasons, including lower prices, special offers, convenience for busy people, and easier returns. These points show an understanding of why online shopping may reduce demand for physical shops. However, the response addresses the task only partially: the reasons are mostly listed rather than explained with specific examples, and the claim that all shops will close is not examined or qualified. The comments about trust and cheating are also unclear and not connected convincingly to the prediction. The response contains 189 words, which is 61 words below the 250-word minimum; 17 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each main reason and add a relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is some organisation: you introduce your agreement, then give reasons related to price, offers, convenience, and returns. This makes the general direction of the response understandable. However, the ideas do not progress clearly from one paragraph to the next, and most points are crowded into a single block. Linking phrases such as “The main reason” and “And main thing” are repetitive or awkward, while the shift to “Those days people having good bonding” is not clearly connected to the argument. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons, and conclusion, and make the relationship between each point explicit. Clearer referencing and a final summary would also help the reader follow your reasoning.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “online shopping,” “local shops,” “special deals,” “return policy,” and “billing.” This is enough to communicate the main subject and several supporting points. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “effect to the local convenience stores” and “in wiseversa easy acess” do not express your intended ideas clearly; “people” is also repeatedly used where “customers” or “consumers” would be more precise. Spelling errors such as “nowdays,” “Becuse,” and “que[e] line” further reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for discussing prices, convenience, and the future of retail.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect ideas using longer sentences, for example when explaining that online sellers can avoid rent and send goods directly to customers. However, sentence structures are limited overall, and attempts to form complex sentences are often faulty. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in “every one are using,” “people was buying,” and “people are using technology … easy access.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also unreliable: the opening argument joins several clauses with commas, and “I agree that ,Because” is not correctly formed. These problems sometimes make the reader work to understand the intended meaning. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement, tense, articles, and punctuation.
