Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, online shopping increasingly more popular. Some people believe that rise in e-commerce will tends to shut down physical shops in towns and cities. While I achknowledge that people are buying more from e-commerce store, however I believe that it will not close the physical outlets in towns and cities completely. In this essay I will discuss both views.

On one hand, online shopping is more convenient and time saving. Busy professionals can buy products online. E-commerce store allows 24/7 service which helps many people. Clients could buy online and saves traveling time. In addition, online retailers might often offer attractive discounts. Costumers can compair price easily, small business may struggle to compete. For instance, several e-commerce stores offer discounts almost every month, like Daraz, Temu.

On the other hand, many costumers prefer checking products physically. Means individuals want to try size, quality or stuff. Costumers wants to try clothes and shoes by wearing it before purchasing. For example, when a person checks the quality and size physically before buying any item it will lower the risk of disappointment. Furthermore, physical stores provides immediate availability of products. Individuals can purchase and use products immediatly. While online store takes time. grocery stores, pharmacy and other essential shops remain physical. Such as, many people want to buy fresh fruits and vegatable from physical outlets.

In conclusion, I partially believe that online shopping has significant amount of benefits and continue growing. Some traditional stores may closed beacuse they can not compete. Thus, it does not mean that it will completely close physical stores.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you accept that online shopping is growing but disagree that it will eliminate all physical shops. You address both sides with relevant reasons, including convenience and discounts online, and the value of trying products and getting goods immediately in person. The examples of Daraz and Temu, and of groceries and pharmacies, help make the discussion concrete. This meets the task well, though some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for example, the claim that essential shops will remain physical could be linked more clearly to why online services cannot fully replace them. To strengthen the response further, develop each main reason with a fuller explanation or a more specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs, and a conclusion that restates your position. Phrases such as “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. The ideas within each paragraph are generally relevant and ordered sensibly. However, some linking is mechanical, and a few connections are unclear. For instance, “Means individuals want to try size, quality or stuff” does not connect smoothly to the preceding sentence, while “While online store takes time” is a fragment rather than a complete contrast. Use a wider range of natural transitions and make sure each sentence clearly links to the point before it.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “e-commerce,” “physical outlets,” “attractive discounts,” and “immediate availability.” These choices show some range beyond basic everyday language. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word combinations are noticeable, such as “achknowledge,” “Costumers,” “compair,” and “significant amount of benefits.” Repetition of “online shopping,” “physical stores,” and “people” also limits flexibility. Aim to check spelling carefully and choose more precise collocations; for example, describe customers as comparing prices and products as being available immediately. This would make your meaning smoother and more natural without changing your clear argument.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including contrast clauses such as “While I achknowledge that…” and examples introduced with “For instance.” The overall meaning is usually clear, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction are frequent enough to affect fluency. Examples include “online shopping increasingly more popular,” “will tends to shut down,” “Costumers wants,” and “physical stores provides.” There are also incomplete constructions, such as “While online store takes time.” Review subject–verb agreement and verb patterns, and ensure every sentence has a complete main clause. More accurate control of these basics would make your varied ideas easier to read.
