Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is no arguing that with the advent of new websites and applications that are available on smart phones, the individual are more inclined towards buying the products online rather than to go out in the market and shop. It will eventually lead to the closure of shops across the globe. I strongly agree with this statement and the reasons for my inclination are discussed further.
Firstly, online shopping has gained an indomitable popularity among the youth and adults. It makes it easier for them to browse through varieties of products just by using apps which are installed on their cell. This saves them from the trouble of going to the mall and look for the products. Thus, it is more convenient for people to shop online instead of going to the shops. For instance a person who is working a full-time job and has only weekends off, will choose to stay home and have rest while place an order through website instead of going out.
Secondly, the websites and apps offers a wide variety of brands, prices, styles and sizes which may not be available at the stores. Additionally, it saves time to shop online rather than buying goods in person. However, one has to be careful about the authenticity of the item purchased online. As there is no way of making sure that the quality of the ordered product is good sometimes people are left dissatisfied with their purchase.
To conclude, there are several reasons associated with shopping online that will lead to permanent closure of the shops in town and cities as discussed earlier. But an effort should be made to make sure that shopping does not loose its original form.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly agree that online shopping will lead to shops closing. You give relevant reasons, especially convenience for people with limited free time and the wider choice of brands, prices, styles, and sizes online. The example of a full-time worker helps illustrate the first point. However, the claim that shops will close permanently is stronger than the support provided: the second body paragraph mainly repeats convenience and variety, then introduces concerns about product quality without explaining how these affect the overall prediction. The conclusion also adds that shopping should not “loose its original form” without clarifying what this means. Develop the reasons further and address whether physical shops could adapt or retain a role.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “To conclude” make the progression easy to follow, and the example is placed appropriately after the first reason. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the clearer progression associated with a stronger performance. However, the linking is somewhat mechanical, and the second paragraph moves from variety and time-saving to product authenticity without a clear explanation of how this qualification relates to your position. The conclusion largely repeats the introduction rather than drawing the points together. Use more varied transitions and make the relationship between each point explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “online shopping,” “wide variety,” “authenticity,” and “dissatisfied,” and the meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts at less common or emphatic language, such as “indomitable popularity” and “permanent closure.” However, some choices are inaccurate or unnatural: “indomitable popularity” does not fit the intended meaning, and “loose its original form” uses the wrong spelling and an unclear expression. Phrases such as “products online rather than to go out in the market” are also awkwardly expressed. Aim for precise, natural collocations rather than elevated wording for its own sake, and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “a person who is working a full-time job” and a conditional structure with “if” implied in the example. Most sentences remain understandable, so the errors do not prevent communication. Some grammatical inaccuracies persist, however: “the individual are” has a subject–verb agreement error, “apps offers” should agree with the plural subject, and “instead of going to the mall and look” needs parallel verb forms. The sentence ending “while place an order” also lacks the appropriate verb form. Practise agreement, parallel structures, and verb forms after linking words, then proofread each sentence for these patterns.
