Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the pretty busy life of today's world, it has been noticed that most people do online shopping just to save their valueable time and resources. Some people argue that it could shut down all shops in cities. I strongly disagree with this opinion as I think the trend of physical shopping can never be eliminated.
There are a lot of strong reasons behind my viewpoint. On of the most common reason is that all people are not of same nature and I have observed that some people still like to do shopping by visiting shopping malls physically. Actually, some people just love to go to these elegant shopping malls and have fun there with their children as big shopping malls have special amusement section for children as well.
Another reason of utmost importance is that, some customers are not very happy when they receive their parcel ordered online. And if they had to return it to the company then long waiting time is another annoyance for them. So, still people try to avoid online shopping and prefer to visit shops physically.
For example, once my cousin ordered a beautiful dress in dark red colour through a company's website online, but when the order was delivered the colour of dress was not the same as we ordered online. So according to me the trend of visiting shops and markets physically can never be obsolete.
There is also a reason that some people from illeterate background just do not know how to order online and they don't have an idea of visiting online websites for shopping purposes. In conclusion, there is a minimum possibility of closing all shops in towns and cities. No matter, how much this trend of online shopping expands, people still like to visit shops for shopping purposes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly disagree that online shopping will close all town and city shops, and the conclusion restates this view. You give relevant reasons, including the social and family appeal of malls, problems with returned parcels, and limited access to online shopping for some people. The example of the incorrectly coloured dress makes one point more concrete. However, the reasons are not all developed equally: the point about people from “illeterate background” is brief, and the claim that physical shopping “can never be eliminated” is stronger than the evidence supports. To strengthen the response, explain more precisely why these factors mean shops will remain open, while avoiding broad claims about whole groups of people.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for supporting reasons, a personal example, and a conclusion. The progression from the appeal of malls to delivery problems and access barriers is easy to follow. You also use signposting such as “Another reason” and “For example” to show how ideas relate. At times, however, these links feel mechanical, and the example about the dress is placed in a separate paragraph even though it directly supports the preceding point about receiving an unsatisfactory order. Some references, such as “this trend,” could be more precise. Group related ideas together and use a wider range of natural transitions to make the argument flow more smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to discuss the topic and make your position clear, with phrases such as “return it to the company,” “shopping malls,” and “online websites.” There are also attempts at less common or emphatic wording, including “utmost importance” and “obsolete.” However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “save their valueable time,” “On of the most common reason,” and “the trend of physical shopping” do not express the ideas naturally. Spelling errors such as “valueable” and “illeterate” are noticeable, and “shopping” is repeated often. Aim for accurate collocations and more precise alternatives, rather than using formal-sounding phrases that do not fit the context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “as,” “when,” and “if,” and the main meaning is generally understandable. Some sentence patterns are controlled, such as “if they had to return it to the company then long waiting time is another annoyance for them.” However, errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction recur. For example, “On of the most common reason” has problems with both the opening phrase and singular agreement, while “all people are not of same nature” is missing an article and has an awkward structure. The sentence beginning “No matter, how much” is also punctuated incorrectly. Review articles and subject–verb agreement, and edit complex sentences for accurate clause structure and punctuation.
