Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often considered that all shops in towns and cities will be closed due to the increasing number of digital shopping. I disagree with the given statement. Throughout this essay, I will discuss why I am not supporting above statement and I will also highlight the positive points of physical shopping.
From one perspective, online shopping is convenient because it saves our time. It is useful when an individual wants to maintain a bridge between work-life balance. It is suitable, since we do not have to go to malls or markets. As a result, we can order it online and receives it in a week. Conveniency is an only advantage of online shopping but most of the people prefer reliability. Most of the time people complain about their products either the color is often different from the article or they are also not satisfied with the fabric. Online shopping is a facility for us but scammers are everywhere. Sometimes well-known brands have fake pages. They make a second copy of original articles which affects the purchaser trust. Hence, I am free to say that digital shopping has drawbacks too, so in the future it will not lead to shutdown all shops.
On-store shops are convenient and reliable too. People are feel free to decide what they want to purchase. Even most of the shops have changing rooms so people can easily try it and check that whether the dress is according to the size or the color is suits them or not. Where as online shopping demands delivery charges on the different articles, physical shopping facilitate us, we can visit numerous numbers of shops in a single fare. According to me, still physical shops have more facilities. Young generation is too much conscious about their appearance and fit checks. They never rely only on online shopping.
To sum up, it is acceptable that digital technology give us a chance to save our time by shop online but it is not true that it will completely destroyed physical shops.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction—“I disagree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address both online and physical shopping, giving relevant reasons such as convenience, concerns about counterfeit products, and the ability to try on clothes in stores. These points support your view that physical shops will remain. The discussion is not equally developed, however: the drawbacks of online shopping and the benefits of in-store shopping are listed more than fully explained, and the claim that “most of the people prefer reliability” is broad and unsupported. To strengthen the response, explain how these factors affect different customers and add a specific example. The response covers the task well overall, but some ideas need fuller development.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The progression from online shopping’s convenience and drawbacks to the advantages of physical shops is generally logical, and signposts such as “From one perspective” and “To sum up” help guide the reader. Some connections are mechanical or unclear, though. For example, “Conveniency is an only advantage” abruptly introduces a contrast, while “Where as” begins a comparison without clearly linking it to the preceding point about changing rooms. The first body paragraph also combines several separate ideas—delivery, product reliability and scams—without developing transitions between them. Group related points and use clearer references and linking phrases to make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to discuss the issue, including “digital shopping,” “delivery charges,” “changing rooms” and “scammers.” There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “maintain a bridge between work-life balance,” but this phrase is not natural in context. Several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “Conveniency,” “a single fare,” “fit checks” and “shutdown all shops.” These sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning, although the main ideas remain understandable. Aim for more precise, natural combinations and check word forms: for example, use “convenience,” “one trip” and “close down all shops.” This would improve clarity and control without requiring unnecessarily complex vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “because,” “since” and “so,” and most of the argument can be followed. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction recur. Examples include “we can order it online and receives it,” “People are feel free,” “digital technology give us,” and “it will completely destroyed physical shops.” The sentence beginning “Most of the time people complain…” also needs clearer punctuation and structure. These errors do not usually prevent understanding, but they reduce accuracy and make some sentences awkward. Practise checking the subject and verb in each clause, and ensure that modal verbs such as “will” are followed by the base form of the verb.
