Student answer (Band 6.0)
The rise of cybershopping would one day replace all community shops in rural and urban areas, which would lead to their closure. In this essay, I would write to disagree that, e-commerce or online shopping will gradually replace local shops in towns and cities, because customers want to see products physically, and also, buyers will prefer easy returns and exchange of products.
Firstly, Customers will want to see the product they are purchasing. there is an adage that says; seeing is beleiving. People prefer to touch, exermine, or try products before buying them, especially cloths, shoes, furniture, and electronics. for instance, last year I ordered for a size 45 black canvas from an online platform. When the item was delivered to me, I tried to wear it, but unfortunately, it did'nt fit, I realized it was a smaller size. If it was in the shop, I would have check if it fits my legs before buying it.
Secondly, customers would prefer easy return of a product, or exchanging that product to something better, if the shop was nearby. for example, It took me two weeks to return the wrong shoe, and another one week, to recieve a replacement. But, if the shoe was bought in a near by shop, returning it and getting a replacement would have been a day activity.
In conclusion, my opinion aligns with not concuring that e-commerce will one day reeplace nearby shops. From my essay above, the benefits of having nearby shops in communities and cities outwieghs the dimerits.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction and conclusion: you disagree that online shopping will eliminate local shops. Both reasons are relevant to the question, and the personal examples about the ill-fitting shoe and the delayed replacement help support your view. This meets the task well, while the response also shows some of the stronger development expected at the next level through specific illustration. However, the discussion is not equally developed: the first reason explains why seeing or trying goods matters, whereas the second mainly repeats the inconvenience of returning one item. You could extend the argument by explaining which types of purchases particularly depend on in-person service, or how local shops offer immediate assistance and choice.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall progression: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate reasons, and a conclusion restates your position. “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” make the structure easy to follow, and the examples are placed alongside the points they support. This is a strong, logical arrangement. To make the links more flexible and less formulaic, use a wider range of transitions and connect the examples more explicitly to the broader claim that shops will continue to exist. Some references could also be clearer: in the opening, “their closure” could refer to either community shops or the areas mentioned, and “that product” is repeated rather than replaced with a more natural reference.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate your argument, including relevant terms such as “e-commerce,” “replacement,” and “physically,” and the reader can understand the examples. However, the range and control are uneven, with noticeable spelling and word-choice errors that reduce precision. Examples include “beleiving,” “exermine,” “cloths,” “recieve,” and “outwieghs.” Some expressions are also unnatural or imprecise: “a size 45 black canvas” and “a day activity” do not clearly express the intended meaning, while “near by shop” should be written as one word. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for shopping, footwear, returns, and exchanges to make your vocabulary more accurate and natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex forms, including a relative clause in “the product they are purchasing” and conditional structures such as “If it was in the shop, I would have check.” These attempts help convey your reasoning, but some grammatical errors remain. The conditional needs consistent forms (“If I had bought it in a shop, I could have checked…”), and there are issues with articles and sentence construction, as in “prefer easy return of a product” and “I would have check.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, such as starting “there is an adage” with a lowercase letter and using a semicolon after “says.” Review conditional patterns, article use, and sentence boundaries to improve accuracy while retaining varied structures.
