Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is considered that in cities shops will be closed due to the development of online shopping. However, I disagree with the given statement as physical stores provides various experiences to customers. This essay will discuss about this in further paragraphs.
To begin with, undoubtely, technology has been advanced a lot which helps to people to buy products online but still shops hold more value. Store gives huge opportunities to buyers such as they can try outfit in the tryial room and can purchase it. Not only this, individuals also have option to check the quality of the item that encourage them to buy, which online shopping can not compete. Moreover, return or exchange option is also given while purchasing in physical store that is always not available in online. For instance, in 2015 it had been observed in a survey that majority of people satisfied by huge options in physical store.
Furthermore, buying things in stores is also give a sense of entertainment because individuals have chance to go there with their loving ones which helps to enhance strong bonding among them. Additionally, stores in towns are very convenient to customers as they can visit there even in any emergency situation to bring product. Also, ordering by internet takes long days so people do not to need wait for the goods which also ensures the saftey of the things. Not all the shops can be compared to online stores as there are some other essential stores that require only physical presence like hair salon.
In conclusion, although the trend of purchasing things by internet had been developed but it can not be closed to shops in cities because it provides immence other options to customers that online shops can not.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction—“I disagree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give several relevant reasons why physical shops may continue to exist, including trying clothes, checking product quality, socialising, urgent purchases, and services such as hair salons. These examples address the question directly. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: the survey example is vague, and the claim that returns or exchanges are not always available online needs clarification. The point about safety is also difficult to follow. To strengthen the response, develop fewer reasons with clearer explanations and more specific supporting examples; this would make the argument more consistently convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the ideas generally progress from practical advantages to social and service-related reasons. Linking phrases such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” help signal this organisation. However, some connections feel mechanical, and several ideas are crowded together, particularly in the second body paragraph. The sentence beginning “Also, ordering by internet…” is hard to connect to the preceding point, while “Not only this” does not lead into a clearly balanced construction. Use transitions that show the precise relationship between ideas, and group related points more carefully. Clearer referencing would also help readers follow what “it” and “there” refer to.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to shopping and consumer experience, including “physical stores,” “quality,” “return or exchange,” and “convenient.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “sense of entertainment” and “strong bonding,” but some choices are unnatural or imprecise and occasionally make the meaning less clear. Examples include “loving ones,” “huge options,” and “immence other options”; spelling errors such as “undoubtely,” “tryial,” and “saftey” also reduce accuracy. Build a more reliable range of collocations for this topic and check spelling carefully. Choosing precise, natural phrases will make your ideas sound more fluent without requiring unnecessarily complex vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “as,” “which” and “because,” and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, errors in agreement, verb forms and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “physical stores provides” should use a plural verb, and “buying things in stores is also give” combines incompatible verb forms. In “helps to people,” the verb pattern is incorrect, while “people do not to need wait” contains an unnecessary “to” and an incomplete verb pattern. Some long sentences also make relationships between clauses unclear. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and verb patterns, then proofread each sentence for a complete, correctly connected structure.
