Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this modernized world, online shopping has became more convenient and reliable for people then ever before. I strongly agree that over time, today's generation will make their first priority to online shopping rather than local shops of small villages and cities.

One reason of growth of online shopping is that people find it more beneficial. For instance, via online shopping you get upto 7 days of return or exchange policy and on the other hand, city shops do not provide this policy, which grabs more attention for buyers to shop online. However, online shopping provide flexibility to sit and shop from your house and do not need to travel and brouse to more then one shop. One of the best reason to shop online is that you can find everything in just one website, whether you want to buy furniture, clothing, jewellery, kitchen tools, bathroom stuffs, kids toys etc. On top of this, if we are a new user we also get some exciting discounts on first purchase, along with few delivery according to terms and condition.

Whereas, shopping in-person makes a huge difference by visiting individual shops for all different products. It also consume a lot of time spending outside. To illustrate this, in online shopping a special feature is added called filter. Where, it becomes more easy to fix our budget by clicking on price icon also, it provides us to select the brand, colour, top rated reviews, most selling products and many more which helps save our time.

To conclude, it is true that in today's era the growth of online shopping will take over and lead to all shops of cities and town.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you strongly agree that online shopping will eventually replace town and city shops. You give relevant reasons, including convenience, return policies, product choice, discounts and filtering options. However, the response only partly develops the central prediction that *all* shops will close. Most examples explain why online shopping is attractive, rather than showing why physical shops cannot survive or considering exceptions such as services or products people prefer to buy in person. The contrast paragraph also repeats the convenience argument instead of developing a distinct point. To strengthen the response, explain the likely effects on different kinds of shops and support your absolute conclusion with more specific reasoning or examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, supporting paragraphs and a conclusion, and the reader can follow the general argument. You use signposts such as “For instance,” “However,” and “To conclude.” However, progression between ideas is uneven: the second body paragraph begins with “Whereas,” but does not develop a clear opposing view, and then returns to the benefits of online shopping. Some links are mechanical or unclear, particularly “Where, it becomes more easy,” which does not connect smoothly to the previous sentence. Group related advantages into a clearer sequence, use paragraph openings that show each paragraph’s purpose, and make the relationship between contrast and support explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “return or exchange policy,” “flexibility,” “discounts,” and “filter,” which helps communicate your ideas. However, the range is limited by repeated basic wording such as “shop,” “online shopping,” and “more,” while several choices or collocations are inaccurate or unnatural: “first priority to online shopping,” “bathroom stuffs,” and “few delivery.” Spelling and word-form slips such as “brouse” and “upto” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise expressions for consumer behaviour and retail, and check common collocations and spelling. For example, “browse” and “delivery discounts” would be more natural in the relevant contexts.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “whether” and “which,” but control is inconsistent. Errors occur in verb forms and agreement: “has became” should be “has become,” “online shopping provide” should be “online shopping provides,” and “It also consume” should be “It also consumes.” There are also problems with articles, plurals and sentence boundaries, as in “One of the best reason” and the fragment “Where, it becomes more easy to fix our budget.” These errors sometimes make the relationships between ideas harder to follow. Practise building accurate complex sentences, and proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb, correct agreement, and complete punctuation.
