Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, e-commerce is an emerging trend in the society. It is often argued that e-shopping will take over all the shops in a metropolitan areas. I strongly disagree with this notion and reasons will be elaborated in the upcoming paragraphs with relevant examples.
One of the major reason is that small-scale shops in cities offer all kind of products to the consumers. Customers can visit the shops physically and they can try the product prior to making purchasing decision. For instance, many shops offer a trial room to their customers where they can try the outfit before finalizing the buying decision. As a result, this offer a assurance to buyer whether outfit is suit on them or color is exactly the same they are looking for.
Furthermore, online shopping involves numerous risks such as hacking of a buyer's personal data or banking information which later results in a fraud activity. On the other hand, the local shops are free of any of such risks

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly disagree that online shopping will close all town and city shops. You give two relevant reasons—customers can inspect or try products in person, and online purchases can expose personal or banking data to fraud. However, the response addresses the task only partially because both points are briefly stated and the second is not supported with an example or explanation of why physical shops will continue to attract customers. The conclusion is also missing, so your final view is not reinforced. The response is 166 words, below the required 250; this limits the space available to develop your reasons. Extend each point with specific examples and explain how it supports your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction is followed by two body paragraphs, and signposting such as “One of the major reason” and “Furthermore” makes the main points easy to identify. The ideas generally progress from the benefits of trying products to concerns about online security. This coherent overall arrangement is a strength. However, the second paragraph ends abruptly, and there is no concluding paragraph to bring the argument together. Some links are also mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “For instance” and “As a result” to connect closely related statements. Develop a fuller sequence within each paragraph and use a conclusion to restate your position and summarise the reasons.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “e-commerce,” “metropolitan areas,” “personal data,” and “banking information.” These choices make your subject clear, and terms such as “trial room” help illustrate the shopping experience. There are, however, some inaccurate or unnatural word choices and collocations, such as “an emerging trend in the society,” “a fraud activity,” and “offer a assurance.” “All kind of products” is also imprecise in this context. These errors do not prevent understanding, but they reduce naturalness and precision. Aim for more idiomatic combinations, such as “a growing trend in society,” “fraud,” and “provide reassurance,” and check that nouns and modifiers fit the intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the relative clause “where they can try the outfit” and the result clause beginning “which later results in.” The main ideas remain understandable, but errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and verb forms are noticeable. For example, “One of the major reason” should use a plural noun, while “this offer a assurance” has both agreement and article problems. The phrase “whether outfit is suit on them” also shows difficulty forming a grammatical clause. There is a punctuation issue at the end: the final sentence has no full stop. Review subject–verb agreement and article use, and practise checking each clause for a complete, correctly formed verb.
