Student answer (Band 4.0)

In compemtorary days, remote shopping has sparked a considerable debate. A considerable number of people argue that due to rise demand of online shopping will lead to closure of physical retails in towns and urban areas. Although can be considered is some aspects, i disagree with this argument because we can not buy everything online due to concern of quality, and shoping is a way of social interation.

One of the reason that support my argument is that during digital shopping we can not check the quality of the stuff

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

You state a clear disagreement and give two relevant reasons: online shoppers cannot check product quality, and shopping provides social interaction. These points show an attempt to answer the question, but the response is incomplete and does not develop either reason. The first point ends abruptly at “we can not check the quality of the stuff,” and the social-interaction idea is only mentioned, with no explanation or example. The response also does not explain whether online shopping might reduce the number of shops without eliminating them. The required minimum of 250 words is not met, which leaves the argument substantially underdeveloped. To improve, explain each reason, add a relevant example, and address the prediction that all shops will close.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a recognisable progression: it introduces the debate, states your disagreement, and begins a supporting point. Linking expressions such as “Although” and “One of the reason” signal relationships between ideas. However, the argument stops before the first supporting point is completed, and the second reason is not developed into a paragraph. As a result, there is no clear overall progression from claim to explanation and example, and paragraphing does not yet organise a complete response. The opening sentence also repeats “considerable” in the next sentence, which makes the introduction feel less controlled. Build a separate paragraph for each reason and connect each claim to an explanation and a specific example.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt some topic-appropriate vocabulary, including “remote shopping,” “closure,” “physical retails,” and “social interation,” and the reader can identify your main position. However, several word choices and forms are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “physical retails” should refer to “physical shops” or “retail stores,” while “rise demand” needs a more natural expression such as “rising demand.” There are also spelling errors in “compemtorary,” “shoping,” and “interation.” The repeated use of “considerable” further narrows the range. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling; a smaller set of well-controlled topic words will communicate your ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both a complex opening sentence and a longer sentence expressing a concession and your position, so there is some variety beyond simple statements. However, grammatical control is inconsistent. For example, “Although can be considered is some aspects” is not a complete, correctly formed clause, and “due to rise demand” lacks the grammatical structure needed after “due to.” In “One of the reason that support my argument,” the singular noun and verb do not agree with the construction. The final sentence is also unfinished, so it does not demonstrate a complete supporting structure. Practise forming complete clauses, using articles and plural forms accurately, and checking subject–verb agreement before adding more complex sentence patterns.
