Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this digital era of technology development, online shopping has become a trend which will overweigh the in-store shopping but it won't obsolete it. Well, I don't fully agree with this as there are some trust worthy customers and shops from years, that I don't think can be run remotely because of being socially valuable.
On the one hand, online shopping has become handy and conveninet in a way that we can sit on a comfortable couch, or even lie on the bed and can shop whatever we like. This requires almost no effort and you can easily get anything delivered at your doorstep, may on the same day or sometimes a week or more.
For instance, if you order food;you get it on the same day, whilst if you order some cloths or other stuff, it takes time like a week or sometimes a month.
On the other hand, there are some stores that have been build for decades. They have some products that can't be delivered online or maybe the staff is not so technological depandant that they hardly know some features of using smartphones.Such shops do not require online platforms because of the trust worthy customers they already have. So physical shops would not get obsolete but they will go hand in hand with online shopping.Furthermore, online shopping is mostly done by youger generation while there is a large generational gape between the younger generation and older one that they don't like each other's concept of shopping.
Well, in my opinion, online shopping will undoubtedly continue to grow and will force many retailers to shift online, it will not lead to the closure of all the shops. Physical shops will survive because they offer an experimental and social value and most of them cater the needs that internet can not fulfill.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you disagree that online shopping will cause every town and city shop to close, and you return to this view in the conclusion. You address both the growth of online shopping and the continued role of physical stores, with relevant points about convenience, delivery, established customers, and social value. The food-versus-clothing example helps illustrate differences in delivery times. However, some supporting ideas are less fully explained: for example, the claim that certain products cannot be delivered online is not illustrated, and the point about older customers is asserted rather than supported. Develop these points with specific examples and explain more directly why they mean shops will remain open, while avoiding broad claims about generations or shop staff.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present contrasting considerations, and the conclusion restates your position. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “Furthermore” makes the main stages easy to follow. Some connections, however, feel mechanical or unclear. The delivery example is separated into its own paragraph, although it would connect more smoothly to the paragraph about convenience. In the second body paragraph, the discussion moves from long-established stores to staff, customers, and generational differences without clearly showing how each point supports the argument. Group related reasons and use clearer references and transitions to make the progression more deliberate.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range for the topic, including phrases such as “delivered at your doorstep,” “shift online,” and “social value.” There are also attempts at less common or precise vocabulary, but some choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, which limits clarity and naturalness. For example, “overweigh the in-store shopping” does not express the intended comparison naturally, and “experimental and social value” appears to mean an experience-based value. Spelling errors such as “conveninet,” “cloths,” and “youger” also detract from accuracy. Aim for familiar, precise collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your argument sound more fluent without requiring unnecessarily complex vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including a contrast with “while” and a relative clause in “products that can't be delivered online.” Meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors and punctuation problems remain. For example, “there are some trust worthy customers and shops from years” has an unclear construction, while “there is a large generational gape … that they don't like” does not form a clear grammatical relationship. The sentence beginning “This requires almost no effort” also shifts into “you can,” making the point of view less consistent. Review sentence boundaries and clause structure, and practise forming clear comparisons and relative clauses. More accurate control of these patterns would strengthen the range you are already attempting.
