Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The letter covers all three bullet points: correcting the information, explaining the importance of accuracy, and suggesting a solution. However, the response is slightly under the 150-word minimum, which impacts the overall task completion. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat underdeveloped. For instance, the suggestion to 'take appropriate actions' is vague. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your suggestions—perhaps by proposing a printed correction or an online update—and ensure you meet the minimum length requirement to fully develop your arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, and you have used some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Secondly', and 'Furthermore'. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by minor errors in referencing and sentence structure. For example, the sentence 'Moreover, article' is incomplete, which disrupts the logical progression. Additionally, the transition between the importance of accuracy and the suggested action could be smoother. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that every sentence is complete will help improve the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your message clearly, such as 'crucial', 'international tourist', and 'factual information'. However, there are some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'wrong information' (incorrect information), 'bad impression on city' (a bad impression of the city), and 'look in these incorrect data' (look into this incorrect data). The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. Focusing on collocations and more formal phrasing for a letter to an editor would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, including missing articles ('article showed it', 'popularity of magazine'), subject-verb agreement issues, and punctuation errors. For instance, 'there are many wrong information' should be 'there is much incorrect information'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall accuracy of the text. To improve, pay closer attention to article usage and ensure that your sentences are grammatically complete.
