Dear Sir or Madam,

I wish to bring yo your attention a serious issue concerning that, recently I read an article in your magazine which contained some false information about my town and the information should be correct when you write an article and please correct this news as soon as possible.

This has resulted in considerable inconvenience, as people will consider this information is correct which is not true. Your article information shows that people throw things on roads instead of dustbin which is absolutely not true. Moreover, it is an essential for the magazine to give correct information, because public will read an article and it influence them to made a negative narrative in their mind about my town.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: correcting the information, explaining the importance of accuracy, and suggesting a resolution. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. The explanation of why accuracy is important is a bit repetitive, and the suggestion for the magazine to 'accept their mistake' could be more professionally articulated. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter to an editor, although the opening sentence is slightly clunky and contains a grammatical error ('bring yo your attention'). To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is expanded with more sophisticated reasoning and that the tone remains consistently professional throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, with each paragraph focusing on a specific requirement of the prompt. There is a clear progression of ideas from the initial complaint to the explanation and finally the suggested resolution. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat basic and occasionally repetitive (e.g., 'because', 'so', 'moreover'). The transition between sentences could be smoother to improve the flow. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the overall structure would benefit from a more varied range of linking words and phrases to connect ideas more fluidly and reduce the mechanical feel of the transitions.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. Phrases like 'throw things on roads' and 'assume bad things' are quite simplistic. There are also some minor errors in word choice, such as 'it is an essential' (should be 'it is essential') and 'influence them to made' (should be 'influence them to make'). To improve, you should aim to incorporate more specific, formal vocabulary related to journalism and public perception. While the meaning is always clear, the range of vocabulary is limited to common, everyday language, which prevents the response from reaching a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'bring yo your attention', 'information should be correct when you write', and 'it influence them to made'. Punctuation is generally functional, but some sentences are run-on or lack necessary articles. While the errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, they are frequent enough to indicate a lack of control over more complex structures. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct verb tense usage will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
