Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: correcting the information, explaining the importance of accuracy, and suggesting a solution. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation regarding why accuracy is important is slightly unclear and could have been expanded with more professional reasoning. The tone is also inconsistent; while it is a formal letter, the phrasing 'I am informing to you' and the abrupt suggestion to 'do it tomorrow' lack the appropriate level of professional courtesy expected in a letter to an editor. To improve, ensure your ideas are fully developed and the tone remains consistently formal throughout the correspondence.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Thus' and 'However', but the transition between ideas is sometimes mechanical or slightly disjointed. For example, the jump from discussing the Taj Mahal to the general habits of 'modern people' feels abrupt. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'it' in 'it is an essential information', where the antecedent is not immediately obvious. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence flows naturally into the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your message clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'accurate', 'hometown', and 'visitor passes'. However, there are instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'arranging the crowd' instead of 'managing crowds' or 'informing to you' instead of 'informing you'. There is also a lack of more sophisticated or precise vocabulary that would elevate the tone of the letter. To improve, try to incorporate more precise collocations and ensure that your word choices are appropriate for a formal context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include missing articles ('in the Agra', 'on this month'), incorrect verb forms ('i want give'), and punctuation errors. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, pay closer attention to basic grammar rules such as subject-verb agreement, the correct use of articles, and prepositional phrases. Proofreading your work specifically for these recurring errors will help you achieve a higher level of accuracy.
