Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: correcting the information, explaining the importance of accuracy, and suggesting a solution. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited by unclear expression. For instance, the explanation regarding the 'two restaurants' and the 'wrong location' is difficult to follow, making it hard for the reader to grasp the specific nature of the error. To improve, ensure that your explanation of the situation is concrete and logically structured so the reader can immediately understand what needs to be corrected.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is often hindered by awkward phrasing and unclear referencing. For example, the transition between the description of the error and the impact on visitors is abrupt. While you use some cohesive devices like 'As a result' and 'Owing to', their effectiveness is reduced by the surrounding grammatical errors. To improve, focus on using simpler, clearer linking phrases and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother flow of information.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally limited and contains several inaccuracies that impede clarity. Phrases like 'local publish who was add' and 'many mankind' are non-standard and confusing. There are also spelling errors such as 'bahaviour' and 'complaint' (used as a verb instead of 'complain'). While you attempt to use more formal language, the word choices are often imprecise. To reach a higher band, focus on using common collocations correctly and proofreading for basic spelling and word-form errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The text contains frequent grammatical errors that often make the meaning difficult to interpret. There are consistent issues with verb tenses ('was published on last week newspaper'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure ('they don't only follow wrong location, but also loss their precious time'). The use of complex structures is attempted but often results in errors that obscure the intended message. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that subjects, verbs, and objects are correctly placed and that tenses are used consistently throughout the letter.
