Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all three bullet points: correcting the information, explaining the importance of accuracy, and suggesting a solution. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. The explanation regarding the economic impact on the town is repetitive, and the suggestion for the magazine is quite basic. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the specific nature of the error and provide a more professional, structured proposal for how the magazine should rectify the situation, such as requesting a formal retraction or a follow-up feature.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter is written as a single, long paragraph, which significantly impacts the logical flow and readability. IELTS letters should be structured into clear paragraphs (introduction, body paragraphs for each bullet point, and a closing). While there is a basic attempt to link ideas using 'because' and 'so', the lack of paragraphing makes the text feel like a stream of consciousness. You need to use cohesive devices more effectively and organize your ideas into distinct sections to help the reader follow your argument more easily.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You use basic phrases like 'highly depended on' (should be 'highly dependent on') and 'get right information' repeatedly. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'household of every family who is living their could be collapse'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to journalism or travel, and ensure you are using the correct word forms (e.g., 'dependent' vs 'depended').

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('every individual... are connected'), incorrect pronoun usage ('their' instead of 'there'), and run-on sentences. The punctuation is also weak, with many clauses joined by commas rather than full stops or appropriate conjunctions. To improve, focus on sentence boundaries and basic grammatical accuracy. Aim to use a mix of simple and complex sentences, but ensure that your subject-verb agreement and word order are correct before attempting more complex structures.
