Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses all three bullet points, but the content is vague and lacks specific details. You mention that there is 'lack of information' but fail to identify what the incorrect information actually is or provide the correct facts. The explanation of why accuracy is important is present but underdeveloped, focusing on tourism in a general way. To improve, you must provide concrete examples of the errors and specific suggestions for the magazine, such as verifying facts with local tourism boards. The tone is somewhat informal and repetitive, which impacts the overall effectiveness of the letter.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter is organized into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is disjointed. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link sentences and ideas effectively. For instance, the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is abrupt. The use of referencing is often unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow your argument. To improve, use linking words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition' to connect your thoughts. Additionally, ensure that each paragraph has a clear focus, as the current structure feels somewhat repetitive and lacks a logical progression.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, with several spelling errors such as 'newslatter', 'publised', 'reserched', 'provid', 'tourisam', 'artical', 'dissipoint', and 'loacl'. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to use more precise or academic language suitable for a formal letter to an editor. There are also issues with word choice, such as 'I was reading your article for foreign trip newslatter'. To improve, focus on learning the correct spelling of common words and expanding your range of vocabulary to include more formal expressions, such as 'inaccurate information' instead of 'lack of information'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are significant issues with verb tenses ('I was read at time'), sentence structure, and subject-verb agreement ('it also effect for their tourisam'). Many sentences are run-on or fragmented, making them difficult to parse. You rely almost exclusively on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences are consistently marred by errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb forms, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles or incorrect prepositions.
