Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Respected Journalist,
I hope you are doing well. I would like to request the correction in your latest article about New York city.
To begin with, the mention of Statue Of Liberty's established date, which is one of the well-known places to visit in this city, is incorrect. Apart from this, it was originally architectured by German artist. However, magazine demonstrates that it was built by Britishers.
Henceforth, the actual credit of the team is given to wrong crew in your article which is completely unfair to those workers. Another reason that this place have been being visited by countless tourists, therefore, there could be a chance to circulation of false history of Statue Of Liberty.
It would be much appreciated if you call out most of the copies of this magazine. Alongside this, spread the news through the news channels and apologize about it and remove it from the online websites too.
Yours Sincerely,
Binay.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: correcting the information, explaining the importance of accuracy, and suggesting a solution. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation regarding why accuracy is important is slightly vague, and the suggestion to 'call out' (recall) all copies of a magazine is perhaps unrealistic for a travel publication. To reach a higher band, ensure your arguments are more fully extended and realistic. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, though the opening 'Respected Journalist' is slightly unconventional; 'Dear Editor' would be more standard.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Apart from this', and 'Henceforth'. However, some of these transitions are used slightly awkwardly; for example, 'Henceforth' is typically used to mean 'from this time forward' rather than as a logical connector for a conclusion. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'actual credit of the team is given to wrong crew', where the antecedent for 'the team' is not explicitly defined. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'incorrect', 'originally', and 'appreciated'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and awkward collocations. For example, 'architectured' is not the standard verb form (the correct term is 'designed' or 'architected'), and 'Britishers' is not standard English; 'the British' is preferred. The phrase 'circulation of false history' is understandable but slightly unnatural. To improve, focus on using more precise terminology and standard collocations, and ensure you are using the correct parts of speech.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'this place have been being visited' (incorrect tense usage) and 'there could be a chance to circulation' (should be 'a chance of the circulation'). Additionally, there are minor errors with articles, such as 'in New York city' (should be 'in New York City') and 'by German artist' (should be 'by a German artist'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to limit your score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and article usage.
