IELTS Writing Task 1 question

You have just read an article in an international travel magazine which contained some information about your town that is incorrect.

Write a letter to the editor of the magazine. In your letter

• correct the information in the article
• explain why it is important for the magazine to give correct information
• suggest what the magazine should do about this situation

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to apprise you that the article published in an international travel magazine on web, it includes some misinformation about my town.

To begin with, the information about my town given in the article is stating that my town is not maintaining the standard of cleanliness which is totally wrong. I noticed some pictures in the magazine as an evidence, but I would like to inform that those pictures are from the village nearby our town.

Additionally, it is particularly important for the magazine to provide information that is up-to-date and correct. Because our town is known for its standards of cleanliness of the streets and parks.

To tackle this situation, i would highly appreciate if you can remove the current article and republish it with the correct information. I am confident that addressing this issue promptly will regain the image of our town.
