Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Madam,
I am writing this letter in inform you regarding an information mentioned in an article of your international travel magazine on tourist attractions of Jaipur. In one of the attractions which is City Palace, the visiting hours were mentioned as 10:00AM to 12:30pm in morning and 04:00 to 06:30pm in evening whereas the correct timings are 10:00AM to 02:30pm in day and 04:00 to 07:30pm in evening.
It is important to provide the correct information of tourist places as visitors highly rely on the details available online and offline. Your magazine have international audience as well so it is really crucial for them to have right information because they are unaware of the place and may have limited time to visit.
I would like you to recommended that you should immediately release another article on this topic with correct details and post a comment for your readers about this incorrect information and mention about the new article.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three points in the task: you correct the City Palace opening hours, explain that visitors rely on published details and may have limited time, and recommend publishing a correction and notifying readers. The specific times make the correction clear, and the purpose of the letter is apparent throughout. The explanation of why accuracy matters is relevant, although it remains fairly general; a brief example of how incorrect hours could disrupt a visitor’s plans would develop it further. The proposed response is practical, but you could make it more complete by specifying that the magazine should correct the original article in its online and future print versions. Overall, the required information is covered, with some ideas needing further development.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter follows a clear progression: it identifies the inaccurate article, explains the importance of reliable information, and then proposes a remedy. The paragraphing supports this sequence, and links such as “as” and “because” help show the relationship between ideas. The reader can follow the message without difficulty. To make the organisation more polished, use a conventional closing paragraph and sign-off, and connect the recommendation more smoothly to the explanation. The final sentence contains two related actions joined together, so separating them or using a clearer linking phrase would improve the flow. Overall, the structure is logical, though some connections and letter conventions could be handled more naturally.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the purpose and includes relevant terms such as “tourist attractions,” “visiting hours,” “international audience,” and “correct details.” These choices make the subject and requested correction clear. However, some phrases are imprecise or awkwardly collocated, including “an information mentioned,” “details available online and offline,” and “release another article on this topic.” The repeated use of “correct information/details” also limits flexibility. Aim for more natural expressions suited to a formal letter, such as “inaccurate opening hours,” “published information,” and “issue a correction.” This would make the message sound more fluent and precise while retaining its clear meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of sentence forms, including a longer sentence explaining why accurate information matters, and the main message remains understandable. Some grammatical errors are present, however. For example, “I am writing this letter in inform you” has an incorrect infinitive pattern; “Your magazine have” has subject–verb disagreement; and “I would like you to recommended” uses the wrong verb form after “to.” There are also article and sentence-boundary issues in the opening, which makes that sentence harder to process. Review infinitives after verbs and modal expressions, agreement with singular subjects, and article use. More consistently accurate control of these patterns would strengthen the formal tone.
