Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the central correction clearly: the article says the dog statue in downtown Kingston has been destroyed, whereas you say it is still there and the community is planting flowers and plants around it. You also explain that inaccurate information could mislead visitors and affect their plans. However, the response only partially fulfils the task because it does not clearly suggest what the magazine should do next, such as publish a correction or update the article. The opening gives some context, but the magazine and article are not described clearly, and the reason the statue matters to visitors is only briefly stated. Develop each requested point more fully and make your request to the editor explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter has a basic sequence: you introduce the problem, describe the incorrect claim, and explain why it matters. Paragraph breaks help separate these points, and phrases such as “But in this magazine” signal a change in focus. However, progression is not always clear: the first paragraph contains several ideas in one sentence, and the final paragraph repeats the request to correct the information without adding a clear action for the editor. Some references, such as “that town” and “that information,” are vague. Use a clearer paragraph structure—purpose, correction, importance, and requested action—and connect ideas with accurate, varied linking phrases.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “incorrect information,” “statue,” “visitors,” and “change their plan,” so the main issue can be understood. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the letter less clear, including “requesed,” “destotyed,” “mentoin,” and “reallity.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “one of the best traveling place” and “past paralamemnt place.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise language for the requested remedy, such as “publish a correction,” would also help you express the task more fully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response communicates its main points through mostly simple sentence patterns, but grammatical errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “because i from that town” is missing a verb, while “i am living in kingston since last 1 year” uses an unsuitable tense and time expression. The sentence beginning “It is the one of the best…” also has problems with articles, number, and clause structure. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including lowercase “i” and missing full stops. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add controlled complex sentences using “because” and “although,” with correct verb forms and punctuation.
