Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear Sir/ Madam
I am writing to express my concern about an article published in your international magazine about my town. After reading it I noticed that some of the information is incorrect and mislead the tourist.
Firstly, the article says that there are few tourist attraction which is not true. Our town have breathtaking views, parks and historical places too. The most interest thing about my town is that they have museum which connects us with our culture and roots. Moreover, there are different cuisine restuarants for toursits so that they could enoy food in our town.
However, it is real important to correct the information about my town since it is tourist attraction and tourist always read these atricle if they read this atricle then nobody would come again here as they write about the attraction they do not have so they should remove this point and write everthing about how this place is work and how people maintain this small place for tourist.
I am concern about my town so it is really appreciated if you could remove this article and write crucial things which the town have for example museums, different restuarat and hotels so that toursit will come and see our town which ultimately give us more work and our town will famous whic is really good for us.
Hope you will look at this problem and solve it as soon as possible.
Yours faithfully,
Reen

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three requirements: it corrects the claim that the town has few attractions, explains that inaccurate information could discourage visitors, and asks the magazine to revise its coverage. The examples of parks, historical places, a museum, restaurants and hotels make the correction relevant. The explanation of the consequences is less fully developed, however: the point that “nobody would come again here” is unclear, and the suggestion to remove the article conflicts somewhat with the later request to correct and replace its information. To strengthen the response, state precisely what the article got wrong and ask for a correction or clarification, then explain how accurate details help readers plan visits and support the town’s tourism.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The message follows a broadly sensible order: concern about the article, examples of attractions, the importance of accuracy, and a proposed response. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and transitions such as “Firstly” and “Moreover” show how examples relate. However, the long paragraph beginning “However” combines several ideas in a difficult-to-follow sentence, while the next paragraph repeats the request to remove or rewrite the article. Some links are mechanical, and references such as “this point” and “this place” are not always precise. Use shorter sentences, give each paragraph one clear purpose, and make the requested action consistent: for example, ask the editor to publish a correction and verify the details.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response uses relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “breathtaking views,” “historical places,” “culture and roots,” and “tourist attraction.” These choices help convey the town’s appeal, but the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make the letter less clear or polished. Examples include “mislead the tourist,” “restuarants,” “toursits,” “enoy,” and “crucial things.” Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “how this place is work” and “give us more work.” Aim for accurate, natural expressions and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “local attractions,” “visitor numbers,” and “tourism revenue” would help explain the issue and its effects.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause beginning “since” and a conditional idea about what readers might do. However, control is uneven, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “Our town have” should use a singular verb, and “there are few tourist attraction” needs a plural noun. The sentence beginning “since it is tourist attraction” runs on through several connected ideas, making the relationships unclear. Practise building accurate sentences with one main point each, and check subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation. This will make your ideas easier to understand while retaining some complex structures.
