Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir,
I am writing to request some changes in an article published recently which contained information about Islamabad public transport and commercial markets closing time. These are crucial for visitors and need to be corrected.
I read the article related to Islamabad visiting spots , weather, famous foods and culture . Overall article is very interesting and helpful for tourist, but the schedule of public transport and market closing time is not exact which need to be fixed. In article it is mentioned that last bus departure time is 9pm,but its exact time is 7pm.Moreover , closing time of commercial markets is 10pm.
If someone came specially from outside of city, it is very considerable to know about the facilities of the city. Otherwise people have to face very challenges. For instance , if a person already know know from somewhere else that last tram will go around 9pm, but it's not true and when he will reach at station with no bus there leave him frustrated.
I would suggest you to review the exact public busess and markets closing timing from their official websites and correct them accordindly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three requested points: you identify the incorrect bus departure time, give the market closing time, explain the consequences for visitors, and recommend checking official websites and correcting the article. The example of a visitor arriving after the last bus makes the importance of accuracy clear. This is a relevant, purposeful response, and the main message is easy to identify. However, the correction about market hours is not fully explicit: you state that markets close at 10 pm but do not say what the article incorrectly claimed or confirm whether 10 pm is the correct time. The proposed response could also be more specific, such as asking the editor to publish a correction or update the online article. These details would make the coverage more complete and developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter follows a sensible sequence: it introduces the problem, identifies the inaccurate details, explains the effect on visitors, and ends with a recommendation. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “For instance” show how the points relate. The overall progression is clear. Some connections are less smooth, however: the opening paragraph mentions both transport and market hours, while the next paragraph repeats that these details need correction before giving the specific information. The example sentence is also long and difficult to follow, particularly the shift from “if a person” to “he will reach.” A more direct sequence of shorter sentences and a clear closing request would make cohesion more flexible and less repetitive.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “public transport,” “commercial markets,” “departure time,” “official websites,” and “frustrated.” These choices make the subject and the practical consequences understandable. There is also some attempt to use more formal language, such as “I am writing to request” and “I would suggest.” However, several noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems limit precision: “very considerable to know” does not naturally express importance, “face very challenges” is unclear, and “public busess” and “accordindly” are misspelled. “Tourist” is also used where the plural is needed. Aim for natural combinations such as “important for visitors to know” and “face considerable difficulties,” and proofread spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple statements and more complex structures, including “If someone came specially from outside of city…” and the example beginning “if a person already know…”. The main facts remain understandable, and the response shows some ability to connect clauses. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur in several places. For example, “a person already know” needs subject–verb agreement, and “when he will reach” is not the appropriate tense pattern after “when” in this conditional context. The opening also has an incomplete construction in “the schedule … is not exact which need to be fixed.” Review sentence boundaries and use a consistent conditional pattern, such as “If a visitor arrives after the last bus has left, they may be stranded.”
