Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You identify the central error by correcting the claims that Faisalabad has few historical places and limited public transport, and you give relevant counter-information about its historical markets and transport. You also begin to explain why accuracy matters, noting that tourists rely on the magazine. However, the response is incomplete: the explanation is cut off, and you do not suggest what the magazine should do. The letter also contains only 95 words, below the required 150, so the task is only partially addressed and the ideas remain under-developed. Complete all three bullet points, for example by asking the editor to publish a correction and verify local information before future articles.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a recognisable sequence: an opening, a correction of the article, and the start of an explanation about accuracy. The contrast signalled by “However” helps connect the article’s claim with your correction. At present, though, the ideas are not developed into a complete letter, and the final point ends abruptly, leaving the reader without a clear conclusion or request. There is also an unexplained blank space before “your article,” and the paragraphs do not clearly separate the letter’s purposes. Use a clear paragraph for the correction, another for its importance, and a final one requesting a specific action from the editor.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “historical places,” “public transport facilities,” “tourists,” and “accurate information,” which makes your main point understandable. However, spelling and word-form errors are frequent and sometimes make the text harder to read, as in “artical,” “fasialabad,” “taxtial,” and “provied.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “big city” and “lots of public transport facilities available that traveling convenient.” Aim for accurate spelling of place names and topic vocabulary, and choose more precise collocations. For example, describe the city as a major industrial centre and say that its transport network makes travel convenient for visitors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to combine ideas in a longer sentence, particularly when contrasting the article’s claims with your own information, and the basic meaning is generally recoverable. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur in basic patterns. In “I am writing express,” the infinitive marker “to” is missing; “your magazine provied accurate information” needs a grammatical structure such as “your magazine to provide accurate information”; and “that traveling convenient” lacks a verb. The final sentence is also incomplete. Use complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check articles and punctuation. A model pattern is: “It is important for your magazine to provide accurate information because tourists rely on it when planning their trips.”
