Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
Opinion always plays an indispensable role while selecting your future plans or any situations. Some person prefers to have friends with same views while others prefer to have different types of mindsets. In the upcoming paragraphs I will enlighten both sides and will give my personal thoughts on it,
To begin with, it is irrefutable that like-minded people have superior synergy and their decisions work efficiently when they work together on certain goals or projects. For instance, UOR-University of Regina had conducted survey regarding grades of group project of the final year students in which they found that the group with the same views and ideas were got more grades compared to the group with different views. Moreover, same opinions boost morale and bonds with each other's. Additionally, in the business, people like to have same mentality to grow their business at peak level as it eliminates any conflicts easily.
On the other hand, friends with disagreement should not be ignored. Sometimes disagreement brings positive outcomes in the future. For an example, student at Lambton college shared his story about his friend opinion on selecting his course. He was selecting mechanical engineering instead of computer engineering but after his friend recommendations he pursued computer science and today, after AI- artificial intelligence boom in Morden era demand for computer science is surged and he is very happy for that opinion.
All in all, I personally believe that opinion plays a pivotal role

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, but the conclusion is incomplete, which significantly impacts the development of the argument. The essay is also under the 250-word minimum, which is a negative factor in task achievement. While the ideas are relevant, the supporting examples (e.g., the University of Regina survey and the Lambton College student) are presented in a somewhat anecdotal and underdeveloped manner. To reach a higher band, you must ensure the essay is fully completed and that your arguments are extended with more depth and logical analysis rather than just brief examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay uses basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' to signal transitions between paragraphs. However, the progression of ideas is interrupted by the abrupt ending of the essay. Paragraphing is present, but the final paragraph is incomplete, which disrupts the overall flow. Referencing is generally clear, but the lack of a finished conclusion makes the logical structure feel unfinished. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that your conclusion effectively synthesizes the arguments presented in the body paragraphs.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'indispensable', 'irrefutable', 'synergy', and 'pivotal'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'were got more grades' (should be 'received higher grades') and 'at peak level' (should be 'to its peak'). There are also minor errors in phrasing, such as 'each other's' instead of 'each other'. While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, the errors occasionally draw attention to themselves. Focus on using collocations correctly to enhance your precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'Some person prefers' (should be 'Some people prefer'), 'had conducted survey' (missing article 'a'), and 'demand for computer science is surged' (should be 'has surged'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the incomplete final sentence indicates a lack of control over the structure of the essay as a whole. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles.
