Student answer (Band 6.5)

According to few individuals, it is good to opt out friends who say yes in their every ideas. Another section of the society thinks, the friends who have sometimes the different opinions as them is better. Friends, who are always easily convinced with ideas can increase the productivity of the work. Friends, who sometimes disagree with the ideas can help to improve theirself. I am convinced with the idea of having friends who do not have the same opinion as me, because it can make me feel homely, and it can increase the trust with each other.

The friends who have the same opinion as us, can increase the productivity of work. They do not create any disruption in ongoing work and follow the command, which we request them to perform. The same mindset can help to complete the work as soon as possible. For example, A research conducted in india in 2011 says, friends who have the same opinion as increase the productivity of work by 70 percentage than who do not have the same opinion.

There are ample evedence to suggest that, the friends who sometimes not convinced with the ideas, can help the individuals to improve in their self. Person, sometimes have the different opnion can lead to discussion about the topic. This discussion can help to improve the knowledge, and improve the thinking ability about the ideas in the different way. This is how individuals can improve their self.

According to me, I always choose friends who can not be easily convinced with my idea. It can help me to increase my thinking ability of watching the things in different directions. If, I have more ideas of solving the topic with the different ways, I can easily solve the problems before it arise. For example, A study conducted on friends of different mindsets says, They are seem to be solved the problems easily as now they have the more ideas of solving techniquies.

In conclusion, for living life happily, it is necessary to have the friends of both the mindsets.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument regarding productivity is supported by a generic, unconvincing statistic, and the explanation of why disagreement is beneficial remains superficial. While the position is clear throughout, the supporting points could be more thoroughly extended with more nuanced reasoning to reach a higher band. The conclusion is also slightly contradictory, as it suggests a balance is necessary, which deviates from the personal stance taken in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a basic progression of ideas, and the writer uses some cohesive devices such as 'For example' and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive, and there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'the friends who sometimes not convinced with the ideas', which disrupts the logical flow. Overall, the structure is coherent, but the transitions between ideas could be smoother and more varied.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and non-standard collocations, such as 'opt out friends', 'say yes in their every ideas', and 'feel homely'. The word choice is often simplistic, and there are noticeable errors in word formation, such as 'evedence' and 'techniquies'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and the presence of errors in spelling and word choice limit the score in this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include incorrect article usage, subject-verb agreement errors (e.g., 'Person, sometimes have the different opnion'), and awkward sentence construction. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary commas frequently interrupting the flow of sentences. While the errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable and detract from the overall quality of the writing. A greater focus on sentence structure accuracy and proofreading is required.
