Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The essay addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that similar opinions lead to fewer arguments and better emotional support, the opposing view—that disagreeing friends can provide new perspectives or personal growth—is entirely ignored. To reach a higher band, you must discuss the merits of the opposing view as requested by the prompt. The introduction is slightly repetitive, and the conclusion simply restates the main points without adding depth. Expanding on why someone might value diverse opinions would provide a more balanced and comprehensive response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'For instance', and 'Furthermore' to link sentences. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be smoother. The structure is functional and helps the reader follow your argument, but it lacks the sophisticated, flexible use of cohesive devices required for higher bands.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'political and religious beliefs' and 'emotional support'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'doing friendship with a same opinion person' and 'similar opinion friends'. These errors occasionally impede the natural flow of the text. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and more precise ways to express relationships and opinions, rather than relying on basic descriptive phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'beliefs will has less conflicts') and article usage (e.g., 'a same opinion person'). Some sentences are slightly clunky due to these errors. While you attempt complex structures, they are not always accurate. Increasing your control over basic grammar and ensuring subject-verb agreement will significantly improve the readability and accuracy of your writing.
