Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, which satisfies the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding 'same-opinion' friends and 'disagreeing' friends are presented in a very simplistic manner, lacking depth or sophisticated reasoning. For instance, the example about starting a business is relevant but is expressed with significant linguistic strain, making the logic difficult to follow. The position is clear, but the overall response lacks the necessary elaboration and academic tone required for a higher band score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the internal structure is weak. The introduction is disjointed and contains non-standard phrasing ('I wright before any thing one hand is good...'). While there is an attempt to use transition markers like 'First' and 'Onther hand', the flow of ideas is often interrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. The progression of ideas is not always logical, and the relationship between sentences is frequently unclear, which forces the reader to work hard to understand the intended meaning.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. The student relies on basic words and struggles with collocations, such as 'same thinking group' instead of 'like-minded people' or 'make a plan succesfully' instead of 'formulate a plan effectively'. There are frequent spelling errors ('wright', 'toghether', 'celibration', 'sequre', 'sufficiance') and word-choice inaccuracies that occasionally impede communication. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, restricting the response to a very basic level of discourse.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of the writing. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence structure (e.g., 'All are same hobby', 'Two year ago I thinking about new start Up'). The student primarily uses simple sentences, and attempts at more complex structures are often faulty, leading to confusion. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of apostrophes and capitalization. These errors are frequent and often cause difficulty for the reader.
