Student answer (Band 5.0)

Humans always have different relations to each others. Today's I will discuss about two types to friends.

Firstly, we will discuss about that kind of friends who always have same perspective or point of views as yours. On the other hand, we will discuss have people in ours life that sometimes disagree with you or even did not believe in you.

For example, if we always surround with same minds its hard to be successful in the life until unless they are already wealthy, moreover, I will explain you with this example imagine if you are living in a small town where all people do the same wear the same what you think will you do something extraordinary absolutely not you also remain the same. One more example, if your all friends believe drinking alcohol, nightlife, drugs are normal part of life and every person surrounded by them have same opinion is they even question on that I believe never. Furthermore, a person who always gives you hard time to think what ever you are doing in your life is good or bad. Sometimes on your bad things, he or she disagrees with you will be beneficial for you. In addition, that kind of person show you the right path of life.

In the end, I believe we have to choose the friends like we choose a partner because both decide where you will be in next fex years if you choose the right one. Our life will be become heaven otherwise it is worst then hell.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views, but the development is inconsistent. While you provide examples regarding the benefits of having friends who disagree, the discussion of friends with similar opinions is underdeveloped and lacks depth. The position is clear, but the arguments are somewhat repetitive and rely on anecdotal examples that could be more effectively linked to the prompt. To improve, ensure that each viewpoint is given equal weight and that your arguments are fully explored with clear, logical reasoning rather than just listing scenarios.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical flow is hindered by awkward transitions and sentence structure. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Firstly' and 'Furthermore', they are often used mechanically. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'I will explain you with this example imagine if you are living...', which disrupts the reader's ability to follow your argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'do the same' and 'wear the same'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'always surround with same minds' instead of 'surround ourselves with like-minded people'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of variety and precision in your word choice prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Incorporating more academic vocabulary and precise collocations would greatly improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('your all friends believe drinking alcohol... are normal'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence construction. The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple or slightly flawed complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, which occasionally makes the text difficult to parse. To progress, focus on mastering basic sentence structures and proofreading for common errors like article usage and verb forms.
