Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument, but the development is significantly limited. The ideas presented are often unclear or illogical, such as the claim that friends with different opinions cannot start a business or that they 'miss behavior'. The position is not clearly maintained throughout; the conclusion is vague and does not synthesize the arguments effectively. The essay lacks specific examples or logical reasoning to support the points made, resulting in an under-developed response that struggles to communicate the intended message clearly. To improve, focus on providing concrete, logical explanations for why one might prefer friends with similar or differing opinions.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is often disjointed and confusing. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'To commence with', 'Conversely', 'To conclude'), they are often used incorrectly or do not logically connect the sentences. For instance, the transition 'However they can not start the business' does not follow logically from the previous sentence. Referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the writer's train of thought. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks logical flow, which hinders the overall coherence of the piece.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, which restricts the ability to convey complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'a number of changes taking place regarding choose friends' and 'miss behavior'. Some phrases are used incorrectly, such as 'improve the lot of experience of knowledge with him'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to discuss the topic with precision, and the errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader in understanding the intended meaning. Expanding your vocabulary to include more topic-specific collocations and ensuring correct word forms is essential for improvement.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies on a limited range of sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'other have negative effect'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'it should made sure'), and missing articles or prepositions. Many sentences are poorly constructed, which makes them difficult to parse. While the meaning is generally discernible, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation significantly impacts the clarity of the writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be a beneficial next step.
