Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'accidents' is a bit vague and could have been better supported with more concrete examples. While the position is consistent, the explanation of why disagreement is beneficial remains slightly superficial. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your points with more detailed reasoning and clearer real-world examples, ensuring that the connection between the argument and the topic is always explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. You use some cohesive devices like 'On the first hand' (though this should be 'On the one hand') and 'To sum up'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is unclear, such as 'because of that' used repeatedly. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer to their antecedents would help the text flow more naturally and improve the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are frequent spelling errors such as 'conpemporary', 'eassy', 'veiws', 'mordern', 'damgerous', and 'selcet'. These errors are noticeable and detract from the quality of the writing. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'perspective' and 'dilemma', the range is somewhat limited. To improve, focus on accuracy in spelling and try to incorporate a wider range of collocations and less common lexical items to demonstrate more precision in your expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('individual believe', 'friends who always have same thought'), incorrect verb forms ('are having', 'are only prefer'), and awkward phrasing ('if friends matching our discussions'). Punctuation is also inconsistent. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex structures.
