Student answer (Band 6.0)
While some believe that friends should be chosen who has similar opinions, others argue that it is good to have disagreement occasionally with them. Although having friends with similar interest is good up to some extent, in my opinion a little bit conflicts are important in friendship.
One main reason why choosing friends with similar opinions is beneficial according to some individuals due to fewer conflicts. When people have same opinion with others regarding politics, social issues, fashion, and money, there are very rare chances of arguments, which make their friendship more stronger and they can be good friends for forever,
Occasional disagreements are essential because of correcting personal mistakes according to others. This is because if good friends point out the mistakes and weaknesses of their friends, they can prevent them to make major mistake, which can spoil their future. As a result, they can make a better decision after working on their weak points. In addition, different opinion also build confidence among people as when they conflict with others, they explain their ideas. Therefore, they can improve their communication and confidence.
In my opinion, even though same opinion can bring comfort among friend circle, I still believe that a little conflicts place a positive impact on the people as they become able to improve their mistakes that can save them from serious issues d they can save their future.
In conclusion, having similar opinions among friends is understandable up to some extent, I feel that disagreement help individuals to take appropriate decision that are better for their future lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all parts of the prompt by discussing both perspectives and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefit of conflict for personal growth and the comfort of shared opinions. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about 'improving communication' is mentioned but not fully explored with a concrete example. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is expanded with more depth and specific illustrations. Your position is consistent throughout the essay, which is a positive aspect of your response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'Therefore', and 'In conclusion' to link your ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. There are also instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother; for example, the transition between the second and third paragraphs could be more refined. Referencing is generally clear, but ensure that pronouns and linking phrases are used with more variety to improve the overall flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use words like 'beneficial', 'essential', and 'appropriate' effectively. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'make their friendship more stronger' (should be 'stronger') and 'a little bit conflicts' (should be 'a few conflicts' or 'some conflict'). To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing. The vocabulary is sufficient to communicate your ideas, but it lacks the flexibility and sophistication required for a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is good. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('friends should be chosen who has' instead of 'have'), incorrect preposition usage ('prevent them to make' instead of 'prevent them from making'), and minor punctuation or spelling slips ('d they can save'). While these errors do not impede overall communication, they are persistent. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and the correct use of gerunds after specific verbs.
