Student answer (Band 6.0)
One group of people think that when is comes to find friends they have to look for same qualities on certain things; however, other group of people thinks opposite and believes they should choose people with opposite opinios. I strongly inclines toward the latter viewpoint. This essay will discuss both the viewpoints in the ensuing paragraphs.
Advocates suggest that friendship with the same interests and thoughts are more happier and healthier. By this I mean that, when people have similar choices they enjoy better and this why their bond becomes more stronger. One of the best illustrations of this is when people have the same passion or choice on choosing movies or games they will have less oppositions and more fun.
On the other side, people think it is good to have friends who shares different opinions. First of all, they learn from eachother and explore their interests. By having unique choices, they learn to accept their selection and learn new skills and try different things. For instances, if couple have separate choices in selecting food they learn to respect each others choices and learn to enjoy their taste.Another thing is that, when they are disagree with them they always have good reasons behind it. Which makes their understanding better and makes their friendship more deepen.
To conclude and offer my positio, I support the latter viewpoint as people learn from eachother and with the separare opinions they learn to give respect to eachothers choices while, on the other side with the same interest people can also stay happy and healthy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and clearly states a personal position in the introduction and conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the argument for having friends with similar opinions is limited to 'fun' and 'movies,' and the argument for differing opinions relies on simple examples like 'food.' To reach a higher band, you need to extend your ideas with more depth and sophistication, perhaps discussing how differing opinions foster critical thinking or personal growth. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesize the points made in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'however,' 'on the other side,' and 'to conclude.' However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'By this I mean that' or 'Another thing is that.' Additionally, there are some issues with referencing; for instance, in the third paragraph, the phrase 'when they are disagree with them' is unclear regarding who 'they' and 'them' refer to. Improving the variety and natural flow of your linking words would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of word-choice errors or awkward collocations, such as 'more happier,' 'more stronger,' and 'friendship more deepen.' These errors occasionally distract the reader. You rely on basic vocabulary throughout the essay. To improve, you should aim to use more sophisticated synonyms and collocations, such as 'diverse perspectives' instead of 'different opinions' or 'strengthens the bond' instead of 'makes their friendship more deepen.'
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that persist throughout the text. Examples include 'when is comes to find friends,' 'other group of people thinks,' 'if couple have separate choices,' and 'when they are disagree.' These errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and article usage, are noticeable. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, specifically verb forms and pluralization.
