Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people think it's better to choose friends who always have the same opinions as them. other people believe it's good to have friend who sometimes disagree with them.
Is important found good friends and people how wants to do the same thing same hobby and same activity in this way you couldn't argue with your friend.
For example with my friends we like do snowboard, so every weekend we book a hotel in the mountain and we rent a car to travel.
We really enjoy this activities and we always speak about or we think to the next travel.
I believe with other friends I couldn't do this activities because they don't like snowboard so how could we be friend if they doing different things.
For other people is not important have the same opinions they are friends but may they don't speak about some arguments like politics or work.
I usually prefer don't speak about politics with some friends because I remember I always argue.
For example I remember one day I start to speak about illegal immigration in Italy and how is bad for my country because a lot of people are come just to delinquency, but my friend said they are just escape form the war and other stuff like this so after we argue a lot and still now he doesn't speak anymore to me.
For that example I prefer have friend with same opinions and same hobby because is more difficult to argue or fight.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument, but the development is limited and relies heavily on personal anecdotes rather than a balanced discussion of the broader social implications. The position is clear, but the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the focus on snowboarding as the primary justification for choosing friends with similar opinions is narrow. To improve, you should expand your ideas to include more general perspectives on why people might value diverse opinions in friendships, such as personal growth or learning new viewpoints, rather than focusing solely on hobbies or avoiding arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear paragraph structure, which makes it difficult to follow the progression of ideas. While there is a basic attempt to organize thoughts, the transitions between sentences are often abrupt or missing. Cohesive devices are used sparingly and sometimes incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'For example' and 'For that example'. The lack of clear topic sentences at the beginning of paragraphs hinders the flow. To improve, you should use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'conversely', 'consequently') and ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, often relying on simple words like 'good', 'same', and 'things'. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'how is bad for my country' instead of 'why it is detrimental' and 'come just to delinquency'. The range is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary and collocations, such as 'shared interests', 'diverse perspectives', or 'intellectual stimulation', and work on using words in their correct grammatical form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people how wants'), missing articles, and incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'I start to speak' instead of 'I started to speak'). Sentence structures are predominantly simple, and attempts at complex sentences often contain errors, such as 'how could we be friend if they doing different things'. To improve, you must focus on basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that verbs match their subjects and that you use the correct tense when narrating past events.
