Student answer (Band 6.0)
According to some people having friends with similar opinion is most preferable. On the contrary , some individuals believe that always choose friends who can debate in the conversation. I will discuss both aspects and explain further in the forthcoming paragraphs.
Considering first point of view, having similar opinion between friends have several benefits.
First of all there is less chance of conflicts between them. To explain further, sometime disagreement on particular topic can create some conflicts in friendship. It can affect the personal relationship and there is more chances of break friendship due to serious disagreement in conversation. For this reason, having friends with same perspective can help to run relationship longer. Moreover, It can not only create harmony between humans as companion always support their opinion in front of others but It also builds more values in friendship.
However, disagreement between friends can teach them about good and bad things in every situation. To elaborate this, if someone has wrong opinion about particular thing, another can change their opinion by giving different perspective. For example , one person has not enough knowledge about who will be choose as a best political leader in the next year and he or she giving wrong assumptions about opposite party as he can influence by others opinion so in this situation his friend can change point of view by supporting opposite leader and tell him about development that was done in past years. As a result, people can know about the other side of coin.
In conclusion, disagreement can teach about right things , meanwhile having similar opinion can save friendship and also create less conflict between people. According to me choose friends with different opinions and capacity to debate in any conversation because it can learn individuals how to give own point of view in front of others.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both viewpoints and providing a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. The ideas are relevant, such as the harmony gained from similar opinions and the intellectual growth gained from debating different ones. However, the development is somewhat limited. The example regarding political leaders is a bit convoluted and could have been more concisely expressed to strengthen the argument. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments would benefit from more depth and nuance to reach a higher band. Overall, the task is fulfilled adequately.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First of all', 'Moreover', 'However', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Considering first point of view'. Additionally, there are some issues with referencing and sentence flow, particularly in the second body paragraph where the long, complex sentence about political leaders becomes difficult to follow. Improving the variety and naturalness of linking words would enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'perspective', 'harmony', and 'assumptions'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'run relationship longer' instead of 'maintain a relationship' and 'he can influence by others opinion' instead of 'he can be influenced by others' opinions'. These errors do not impede communication but indicate a need for more precise control over word forms and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'having similar opinion between friends have several benefits' (subject-verb agreement) and 'there is more chances of break friendship' (incorrect verb form). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and missing articles throughout the text. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. More attention to basic grammar rules and sentence construction is required.
