Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is quite limited. For instance, the points regarding 'positivity' and 'clarity' are stated but not supported with specific examples or detailed reasoning, which is expected at this level. The conclusion is also very brief and lacks a summary of the main arguments. To improve, you should expand on your points by explaining 'why' and 'how' these dynamics work in real-life friendships, rather than just listing benefits.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite mechanical and repetitive. Phrases like 'In my views' and 'At the i want to say' are used to signal transitions, but they are grammatically incorrect or awkward. There is a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect ideas within sentences. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the overall flow is hindered by the simplistic sentence structure and the lack of varied cohesive markers.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You rely on simple terms like 'good', 'right', and 'things' throughout the essay. There are some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'we cannot be take any correct decision' and 'these kind of gives you'. To achieve a higher band score, you need to incorporate a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary and demonstrate more precise control over word forms and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'these kind of friends gives you'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'we cannot be take'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and capitalization. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors would be beneficial.
