Student answer (Band 6.0)
In current time, the world has become the full of competitions. It is very difficult to find the genuine and good friends in recent time. I have seen so many people who believed that it is good to have the same mentality of persons in a friend circle. On the other hand many of them also believed that it is very crucial to have some friends who often get disagreed with them and give the different opinion. In my point of view, it is really important to have the real friends rather than sugar coated. I would like to discuss both these views in the following paragraphs.
To begin with, it is very important to choose friends in your life who actually guide you in a right pathway of life rather than always get agree with you. These kind of people will always protect you from making mistakes. For instance, I always believes in quality over quantity. Hence, it is good to have little or tiny but real friend group rather than fake friend group.
In addition, It would be nice if every person of friend group will put their own idea or opinion in the discussion. So that we can make our future work or task easy. Moreover, possibilities of having mistakes would be decreased if we try to solve all the different opinions and our work would be more accurate. For example, we always try to take the opinions from everyone in our group so that we can make our project or any other work accurate and easy.
To conclude, there are different type of humans who has different mentality about friends opinions but I personally believed that it is good to have real and genuine friends who make different opinion but who protect you in a life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that friends who disagree can help avoid mistakes, the explanation remains quite general. To improve, you should provide more specific, concrete examples or deeper analysis of why differing opinions are beneficial in a social context. The introduction is a bit repetitive, and the conclusion is slightly underdeveloped. Overall, you have covered all parts of the prompt, but the depth of your arguments needs to be increased to reach a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with,' 'In addition,' and 'To conclude,' which help guide the reader. However, some of the transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., 'These kind of people'). The flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be more cohesive.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'good friends,' 'different opinion,' and 'make mistakes.' There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'sugar coated' (which is used as an adjective here without a noun) and 'the full of competitions.' To improve, you should focus on using more sophisticated vocabulary and idiomatic expressions that are appropriate for a formal essay. Expanding your range of synonyms and working on accurate word choice will significantly enhance your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the essay contains frequent grammatical errors. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('I always believes,' 'every person... will put,' 'humans who has'), article misuse ('the full of competitions,' 'the genuine and good friends'), and awkward phrasing ('In current time'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent and occur throughout the text. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures while ensuring they are error-free will also help improve your score.
