Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task, discussing both perspectives and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, though the development is somewhat uneven. For example, the argument regarding friends with similar opinions is a bit vague, focusing on 'generating monetary benefits' without fully exploring the social or emotional aspects of friendship. The second body paragraph is better supported with a personal example, though it remains slightly repetitive. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully explored with more depth and nuance, rather than relying on general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two viewpoints. Cohesive devices are present, such as 'On the one hand', 'To exemplify', and 'To conclude', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or forced, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'Concerning with this'. Improving the variety and naturalness of linking words would enhance the overall coherence of the essay.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, with some attempts at less common items like 'multifaceted rationales', 'magnificent monetary benefits', and 'prudently'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'comrades who already possess same perspectives' (should be 'share the same perspectives') and 'conservationist' (used incorrectly to mean 'those who hold a different view'). These errors occasionally impede the precision of the argument, though they do not prevent the reader from understanding the intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'friends are considered as the valuable asset' (should be 'a valuable asset') and 'friend who disagree' (should be 'friends who disagree'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor errors that affect the polish of the writing. To improve, the writer should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring consistent verb forms.
